The guy disrupted a meeting that had nothing to do with healthcare and Rep. Scott put him in his place. CNN gave the disruptor a great edit, however, and tried to paint Rep. Scott in a negative light.

3. Counting down to the revelation that the doctor is linked to the GOP
Not sure, but it wouldn't surprise me if it's revealed this doctor is somehow connected to the GOP or some of the anti healthcare reform lobbies. Just the "ordinary mom" two days ago, who happened to be a GOP worker.

5. Yeah... CNN is trying to say that Scott had a "meltdown".
Blitzer just said it, and then showed the clip that showed nothing remotely resembling a meltdown. CNN is just making stuff up. I wonder which side they're on? (sarcasm) Not even a hint of impartiality.

it ain't just CNN. Look up the incident anywhere online and all you see is "Democrat Congressman Screams at Doctor" and "Democrat Rep yells at own constituents." Why isn't the headline, "Congressman Defends Civil Discourse Against Disruptor and Mob Instigator." Fuck this guy, and the corporate media whores who spin the truth whenever they can. I am listening to this dickhead talk in the background on my TV right now, "Blah blah, I am an independent, this isn't a political issue, blah blah, me good, congressman evil, as confirmed by CNN."

Edited:
After interview and commercial break was over, what does Wolfie say? We just had a lively debate between the congressman and a concerned doctor. HA!!!

12. Maybe I missed something here, but didn't they open the floor to questions from the
audience?

I don't know if the doctor is a Republican or Democrat but I thought he asked a legitimate question. He didn't stand up and scream at the Congressman and he wasn't obnoxious. He did press for an answer, which is what we ALL should do with our elected officials when they are supposedly answering questions in a meeting.

I thought Mr. Scott started out by responding in a very reasonable and measured manner. What lead him Scott to get upset? The fact that he didn't like the question? The way the clip was cut I couldn't tell what set the Congressman off.

P.S. I hate CNN but I don't think they were wrong in following up with the doctor--regardless of his motives.

16. I agree. LISTEN TO THE QUESTION!!
The doctor asked if the rep was going to vote for a health care bill LIKE THE ONE IN MASSACHUSETTS. This is the mess that Mitt Romney helped shepherd thru. As I understand it, that plan requires health insurance of everybody (or nearly everybody) as a way of assuring health care for all, but it doesn't do enough to help those who can't afford to pay for health insurance. In other wds, it's a capitulation to the insurance industry and has created a fiscal nightmare for MA.

From what I heard on CNN, the doctor is probably a Democrat. I'd be concerned about the same question if I were a doctor.

If I'm wrong, somebody explain to me where I'm wrong.

18. Thanks. I DID listen to the question. And I thought I listened to the answer from Mr. Scott.
But as the clip cuts back and forth the Congressman gets angrier and starts losing it. So I figured there had to be more to his rising anger than just the "like the one in Mass." statement.

19. Slippery slope
You may be right in one sense. The Democrats have let themselves be put into a position where if somebody stands up with a legitimate question (may be strident or not) about health care they have to worry about 'is this another Republican/Conservative disruptive attack'. The Democrats have to be real careful that they don't over react just because it is a question on health care. I don't know what this doctors stance is but I might have given him the benefit of the doubt. On the other hand as people have stated I don't really know how CNN edited this exchange and whether they made it look worse than it really was. Hey CNN and all other new agencies it is not your job to make the news or be the news your job is to report the news so if you have to edit clips to make it fit 'your story' then your in the wrong damn business.

13. MDs that don't want single-payer are just worried about their salaries
MDs have a monopoly on health care in this country. It keeps their salaries grossly inflated, so they'll fight to keep it that way. The thought of government regulation scares them for selfish reasons.
