2. Doesn't Garrett understand how emails work? |
|
Anyone who has access to somebody's email address (friends, for example), can send that address to any organization. Can't they? I'm confused.

I doubt that. Most of the nation knows Fox news is stupid, and this guy seems a primo example of that.
What an idiot. How ignorant can he be if he doesn't know someone else can add your email to most any list.
My theory on why these names (if any) got on a list? People in the wingnut's orbit are either twitting him/her or, gasp, hoping some exposure to the truth might impinge on his or her tiny brain.

13. People may have e-mailed complaints to the White House and |
|
been placed on the White House e-mail list. Or, is the White House responding to e-mails with false statements about the health care plan that are forwarded to the White House?

(Hi, Eleanor doppleganger :-)
Yeah, I suspect if you email the White House, even to call Obama the Spawn of the Devil, you automatically wind up on their email list.

Face it Mr. Garrett- the soft days of the Bush Admin and Roger Ailes/Karl Rove calling the shots are over with. Ask some real damn questions or get out of the room.

15. I may have received that email today. |
|
The email says from, David Alexrod, The White House. The subject line is "Something worth forwarding." The body of the email has the White House Logo and it opens with Dear Friend. It mentions health care reform and provides a link to WhiteHouse.gov/realitycheck. There's another logo with Health Insurance Reform Reality Check and lists 8 improvements to health care and 8 myths about reform. I have the option at the bottom to unsubscribe.
The last I wrote to the White House was during the Bush administration. I would think the Obama campaign had my email address. It appears to have been sent from info@messages.whitehouse.gov
Health care reform is very important but I haven't yet written anyone in government on this issue. Something just seems amiss.
Dear Friend,
This is probably one of the longest emails I’ve ever sent, but it could be the most important.
Across the country we are seeing vigorous debate about health insurance reform. Unfortunately, some of the old tactics we know so well are back — even the viral emails that fly unchecked and under the radar, spreading all sorts of lies and distortions.
As President Obama said at the town hall in New Hampshire, “where we do disagree, let's disagree over things that are real, not these wild misrepresentations that bear no resemblance to anything that's actually been proposed.”
So let’s start a chain email of our own. At the end of my email, you’ll find a lot of information about health insurance reform, distilled into 8 ways reform provides security and stability to those with or without coverage, 8 common myths about reform and 8 reasons we need health insurance reform now.
Right now, someone you know probably has a question about reform that could be answered by what’s below. So what are you waiting for? Forward this email.
Thanks, David
David Axelrod Senior Adviser to the President

16. What is the big deal? Does Fox think there is a conspiracy here? |
|
Why would he even care? There is scary stuff going on in the world and he cares that someone gets an email from the WH? Can't they just unsubscribe?
This actually happens to me all the time in my job. An advocate attacks in a public meeting saying: a customer of yours came to me and said that you sent her two copies of the exact same notice! Why do you do that?
We don't, as a matter of course, but sometimes accidents happen. If you give me the name I can try and find out. Until you give me a name, I can't answer.
Gibbs handled it brilliantly. Made it hard for Major to go to his friends and say "they're hiding something". Really. This is the best you've got? Why don't you ask about those death panels or camps they've got going?
brother.
