1. Wouldn't you like to see this instead of a gazillion commercials
for Viagra, Cialis and Lipitor?

8. Obama needs to utilize his "unitary authority" and bypass the right wing myth machine
Obama needs to take bold action. Simply bypass the rethugs, bipartisanship is the wrong way to go. Stop being nice to thugs.

20. he's got the bully pulpit, he needs to just use it.
Maybe he will, I don't know what his strategy is, but it hasn't looked all that great so far.

11. Good vid, but Obama using it would play into opponents hands...
..he's not proposing universal health care. That would be government run health care, which is how opponents are lying about Obama's proposal.

Yes, the U.S. should have universal health care. A public insurance option is a poor substitute, and even that is getting this ferocious opposition.

12. There would be ferocious opposition if the Dems suggested ANYTHING
By presenting their compromise option FIRST, the Dems showed themselves to be weak.

Rule #1 of negotiating: Don't compromise with yourself. Go for a little more than you really want.

14. As the lady said . . . "It's a time for COURAGE" . . .
Let's top the fear-based arguments . . .

MEDICARE FOR ALL -- EVERYONE IN, NO ONE OUT

27. There are other ways
Put a footnote on page 1178 of some budget bill that "the eligibility age for Medicare shall be 63". Then in some other bill "spouses of veterans shall be eligible for medical care at VA facilities". Repeat those tactics year after year. Enough of those types of end runs, and soon the eligibility age for Medicare will be 20, everyone under 18 will be covered by their parents' coverage, and the only people left to sell insurance to will be 19 year olds not covered by student health services.

encourage us to what is beneficial to our own society.

15. Ah, common sense and truth -- how unique ...!!! Capitalism is terrorised by common sense . . .
and corporations need to control America which used to represent leadership --

once America is weakened -- and we're certainly on the road to the GOP's "third world America" --

then the privatization of health care systems in other smaller countries can be easily accomplished.

Again -- we're not going to get MEDICARE FOR EVERYONE without demonstrating for it --

The Dems have to call our Democrats --

The Unions have to call us out --

Women's organizations have to call us out --

WHERE ARE THEY ALL?????????????????????????

16. If the Canadians had a proposal to switch to privatize their health system
How many politicians would be voted out in the next election for just uttering such a thought?

17. All.
The bush wannabe Harper would be proposing it all over the place but even he's smart (just) enough to know he'd be out on his arse the following day.

Literally.

22. All of them
And because Canada is run on the parlimentary system he would face a vote of confidence the next day and likely lose his job and his party their place in power.

Why? Because it works.

18. Thanks for sharing. Excellent video. I think this would fire up some
of the people who are for health reform, who I still think are a silent majority IMHO. I wish they could all see this.

Wonder if the President has seen this?

19. All my Canadian friends are really pissed off
about the crap being thrown at universal health care by your right wing pigs. I am trying not to care about the possibility that you will be cheated out of it because of the powerful private insurance companies and Big Pharma.

How can they sleep at night knowing how many nice people are suffering to help Insurance Company CEOs live an obscene lifestyle?
