Three cars involved

Car #1 - Three young girls (two unresponsive)
Car #2 - Gray haired man (unresponsive)
Car #3 - Daddy and Mommy (unresponsive), young boy, and baby

Total of eight people that I could tell.

The PSA was filmed in Britain where they drive on the other side of the road.
The driver was the person texting.

i have been a passenger in a few skidding on ice near accidents and i raised my arms up to protect my head, i wonder, is that not a natural move? pretty damn realistic though.

2. Sad that like drunk drivers they tend to kill others and not themselves.

Whole fucking PSA just made me paranoid to drive.

Maybe it's because the family in the car looks like my family and the little girl talks like mine (save the accent).

The Passenger died. At least had her neck snapped.

As far as we can tell the Driver is the only one that lived...and the implications that she will have to live with what she did...albeit out of irresponsibility and not purposefully.

7. And after all that...

...in most U.S. states, the girl would be facing at least five counts of vehicular manslaughter, and possibly criminally negligent homicide. She'd be in her 50's before she got out of prison.

We never get the really good PSA's in the U.S.

9. a woman near here drove under the rear of a tractor -trailer while texting

needless to say she did`t survive...

illinois is passing a law to "outlaw" texting while driving...like that will stop morans from texting

10. It looks good

but will have the same effect as the gory movies they showed us in Driver Ed almost forty years ago. By the time of my tenth class reunion, there were about five or six of my fellow students who died in auto accidents.

It's not enough to have these easily-dismissed message, it cannot overcome the "it will never happen to me" invulnerability that younger people all have.

We are waiting to hit a magic number of dead people before we ban texting, which is the only real solution to this.
