1. Obama also needs to realize it's not up to him to rehabilitate the Republicans public image |
|
It's not his job the rescue them from irrelevancy by insisting upon bipartisanship. He needs to get health care wrapped up before the Republicans turn it into an election issue.

...that's what you don't understand. It's Obama's responsibility (at least in part) to be a steward of the party which elected him.
If he and Pelosi and Reid simply push this through, they'll destroy the party.
There won't be a Democratic party to worry about and that's why he's backing off. If this is pushed through without a bipartisan majority, the right would probably throw a billion dollars or more at the 2010 and 2012 elections. You don't want that to happen. Trust me.

19. If they would have pushed this through early. It would be yesterdays news. |
|
The realities of what is would be overcoming the repulicans terrorism and exploitation of what could be. People would see there is no death panels. They still have their private insurance etc. The Republicans are in a fight for the life of the party. They aren't going to take it easy on us regardless of what we do. They're using this issue to regain traction and relevance.

6. How can you tell Newt Gingrich is lying? |
|
His lips are moving!
That joke never grows old when it comes to Newt, who simply excels at making shit up. No, Newt, EVERY SINGLE POLL shows the majority of voters want real healthcare reform.

I loathe NEWT! :wtf: This is how he got back on teevee: When Gingrich decided to resurrect his political career, he decided—the Republican Party is controlled by the Christian right. He’s not a stupid man. “What do I do? I have to confess all of my sins by going on James Dobson’s radio show,” catering to the culture of personal crisis that lurks behind the right’s politics of resentment. And so, that’s exactly what he did. He basically prostrated himself before Dobson, who has, you know, no political—supposedly has no political standing. And the next thing you know, he’s back on the national stage. He’s welcomed at the Christian right gatherings. You can see him on Fox News now. So, that shows, you know, how powerful Dobson is. But it’s not just Dobson; it’s a mentality that defines conservatism. (...) http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=214x217823

12. Dobson's the man to take down |
|
Gotta get him in a scandalous scandal. This is the second Untouchables quote I've used today:
I'm gonna tell you something. Somebody messes with me, I'm gonna mess with with him. Somebody steals from me, I'm gonna say you stole. Not talk to him for spitting on the sidewalk. Understand? Now, I have done nothing to harm these people but they are angered with me, so what do they do, doctor up some income tax, for which they have no case. To speak to me like me, no, to harass a peaceful man. I pray to god if I ever had a grievance I'd have a little more self respect. One more thing, you have an all out prize fight, you wait until the fight is over, one guy is left standing. And that's how you know who won.

15. Two things are clear from this clip |
|
Howard told Wallace to let him talk if he was to go on that show, and second, that Obama made a HUGE mistake in letting Rahm Emmanuel talk him into excluding Howard from the administration.
Howard is now a private citizen, not Secretary of HHS.
So how come the media, from Fox to MSNBC, wants to hear from private citizen Howard Dean over Obama's cabinet Secretary who would oversee any reform in health care? Hasn't anyone in the White House figured out that people get Howard because what he has to say is what people want to hear, and it's what people understand.
Oh, and if people want to hear Howard more than they want to hear anyone from the administration, or even the Senate or the House, DOESN'T THAT TELL ANYONE SOMETHING?????????
Oops, sorry. I guess not...........
