They can replace him in the next election. Congress can expel someone. No one can "fire" congresscritter. more's the pity.

he involuntarily, by the action of a superior authority, for misconduct, loses his title, his office, his salary, his perks and benefits... he is no more, nor again, a member of congress.
fired? expelled? mere words lacking distinction in this circumstance. one might as well say "Joe, YOU'RE FIRED!!!"
