As usual, she makes perfect sense. Says the r/w reaction to the loss says more about them than the President.

Pres. Barack Obama: "The truth is, being successful is hard"

"That's okay. Some of the most successful people in the world are the ones who've had the most failures. J.K. Rowling's -- who wrote Harry Potter -- her first Harry Potter book was rejected 12 times before it was finally published. Michael Jordan was cut from his high school basketball team. He lost hundreds of games and missed thousands of shots during his career. But he once said, "I have failed over and over and over again in my life. And that's why I succeed."

These people succeeded because they understood that you can't let your failures define you -- you have to let your failures teach you. You have to let them show you what to do differently the next time.

No one's born being good at all things. You become good at things through hard work......You've got to practice.
snip
And even when you're struggling, even when you're discouraged, and you feel like other people have given up on you, don't ever give up on yourself, because when you give up on yourself, you give up on your country.

The story of America isn't about people who quit when things got tough. It's about people who kept going, who tried harder, who loved their country too much to do anything less than their best.
snip

So today, I want to ask all of you, what's your contribution going to be? What problems are you going to solve? What discoveries will you make? What will a President who comes here in 20 or 50 or 100 years say about what all of you did for this country?
snip
I'm working hard.....
But you've got to do your part, too. So I expect all of you to get serious this year. I expect you to put your best effort into everything you do. I expect great things from each of you. So don't let us down. Don't let your family down or your country down. Most of all, don't let yourself down. Make us all proud" - Excerpts from President Obama's recent speech to our Nation's school Children

3. Duh. Rachel can be a bit corny, but mostly she just plain smart and on target, best research too.

7. That research you mention, that's called journalism
And there's damn little of it available from conglomerate-owned media, print or broadcast.

10. True, but most pundits do not do independent research, she does.
She is not a journalist by my way of thinking because she is one sided, I've caught enough spin speak in her comments as to fully be aware she is not fair, nor balanced. To me a journalist has to be fair and balanced. I don't see any of those anymore, anywhere, . . . not even Rachel.

5. Thank you, babylonsister!
This is something to link around to the "Obama haters" on this board who think "he got bad advice", "he's going to have to take responsibility for his own decisions", "yada yada yada".

Any little thing that the haters think they smell blood is grist for the mill..and they end up getting rotten eggs all over their collective face.

6. The one I liked best was the Fox commentator
who said that she felt safer in Rio than in Chicago. I guess she never heard of the favelas or the death squads of rogue cops hunting and shooting homeless children in the streets.

9. Don't be surprised about this.
Their leader, Rush Limbaugh, told them they want the country to fail.
