Keith talks to Jonathan Alter about RoboCalling. Clip has a good example of the practice.

1. Also available on Crooks and Liars
http://www.crooksandliars.com/2006/11/06/enough-is-enough

I wish they had stressed more the fact that these dirty tricks are being committed by the rethugs.

Jonathan Alter's comment about the need for "perp-walks" was excellent.
He is absolutely correct about that.

I liked hearing that in some cases the fines could be $500 per robo-call if they're found to be in violation of law.

6. "The press has to do better at covering this"......
and therein lies the rub. The Corporate Press will do NOTHING to upset their tax break apple cart and hazard the wrath of their benefactors, the Republican Party.

One of the first things Democrats have to do when we obtain the majority (there's so MANY things, where do you start?) is break up the Corporate Media Monopolies.

With the exception of KO and a very few others, there in no one to report the seedy, cheating, underhanded and illegal tactics of the Reich Wing.

I hate them, with every fiber of my being, I hate them! :grr:

8. Repugnantican robo calls, et al
So what if it's against the rules and/or the law. The Repugnanticans' bottom line is and has always been to win at any cost. So what's a few million eventually paid out to civil lawsuits? And there's always a few loyal minions -- like those from the '04 election's New Hampshire jamming of Democratic phone banks -- willing to fall on their swords to end up being fined or sentenced to a short hitch in a minimum or medium security facility. You can bet that the RNC/GOP will take good care of those loyal scapegoats during and after their incarcerations are done. Yep, bottom line....win at all costs.

And then there are those friggin' Repugnantican controlled computerized/electronic voting systems. Just more SSDD. -- Michael

9. This will be the first election that the Dems will control a Judiciary Committee
after the election. Even if the GOP manages to steal a couple of Senate seats, the House is going Dem. That means that a lot of GOP operatives are going to go to jail this time--people who thought that it would be safe to do what they did in 2002 and 2004. Conyers can spend a solid month just examining all the election fraud that Al Gonzales would normally sweep under the rug. This time the election hearings wont have to be held in basements.

11. Thank you. Truth. Will. Prevail.

Never Forget: George W. Bush willfully violated National Security to cover-up his willful launch of a war of aggression and illegal occupation of Iraq .... and, now he willfully provided nuke-making instructions to terrorists -- if you doubt it, just check 'the google' .... and LIEberman enabled him every step of the way ....

12. This is stealing the election
One more time: we see the polls; they aren't even close; there is no way the Republicans can't win this election fairly.

If we wake up on Wednesday morning and discover the Republicans have stolen the election, we will hit the streets to take it back.

13. hit the streets.... sigh....

...i wish that meant anything anymore... i think the street-hitting has become dangerous and cliche and with a monopoly of force in the hands of the state we'd just be taking our lives and freedoms in our hands.

...i wish we had a way to change these sick repugnicans' minds. i mean REALLY change their minds. like de-hypnotize them. make them aware of what they've done and what they're doing and make them change it. there used to be this guy, see, marshall mcluhan, he said "the medium is the message", but you know what, WE are the message and we are totally locked out of all but the most marginal of media. luckily it's enough to survive and build an internet community, but i honestly doubt you'd be able to find a quorum of real revolutionaries like they did in the Ukraine.

...ok so i believe in my heart that there DOES exist such a medium. that we can build it, find it, turn it into something real, and CHANGE their minds. because just winning congress isn't enough; just winning the 2008 elections isn't enough. i can't believe fellow americans can even think like the repugnicans do. it is wrong that ANY american thinks like that. we are a great and free country; we can't see through OBVIOUS lies like 9-11 and the sham saddam they just sentenced to death ??? (google: saddam teeth impostor)

...ok so when this election is over, will you assist me in developing such a medium ? does any of this make sense or am i just a little freaked out about rove's mastery of dirty tricks ?

19. Not geniuses at all
Just scumbags, and short-sighted scumbags at that.
The blow back politically, and the financial costs (500 bucks per call in some states) will not make this look like a genius decision by the RNCC in hindsight.

Maybe they could use some of the money from the fines to pay back the war debt that bu$h and the rubber stamps have amassed
