I pledge lack of allegiance to the drag of the United Snakes of Amerika and the elite for which it now totally stands.
I vow not to succumb to or fall for any inducements by any lackey, (especially the well entrenched and wealthy ones) who stands before me in any way without any full and clear disclosure of his relationship to the the whole that he, (or she) might represent.
I reserve my right to perpetually wonder about the Republic for which this all stands, (and for whom) and I vow to question and most certainly hold accountable those who manage to rise up in front of it all via the media, not matter what their stature or accomplishment might be. in relation to the idea of one Nation, indivisible.
I place before all media-induced events and sensationalistic reporting, a now strange and almost archaic notion of justice and liberty for all. One where simple and naive pledges about global warming are cast out to the sheeple as bait to distract them all from a much larger set of important and immediate issues that are the equivalent to bombs bursting in air in no uncertain terms. The picture is bigger than the big picture takers dare to reveal, for me. Snap! Snap! Record!
Maybe the middle class live by the Gore pledge as a Gospel, but I think there are many of us lowly, yet thought ensconced commoners who are seeing something that is more overt and relative to that picture. We want more than a Howdy-Doody catechism where we all intone the words of a figurehead before we all fall down, don't we now?
Damn, and I thought I had something in common with Gore's ideals once upon a time. Now, all I see is higher gas prices, a hungry belly, no health insurance, and inducements toward debt in place of any financial future certainty, or relevant security. What the fuck good does this ridiculous set of pledges do me or my larger constituency? Well, it makes for good PR and creates a salve for those who stand above us who struggle on the edge of the precipice that is modern American life, et al.
Damn it, I thought a college education and all that reading would have at least allowed me to understand and be part of this seemingly important event. Well, I decided to not think like I was supposed to and that seems to be a prescription for a financial downfall. Gore has at least managed to fake it to the point that other people can relate to his spiel.
