2. Another bit of poutrage over something that's been happening forever |
|
Must have been a REALLY slow news day. School lunch has always had meatless days, like Pizzaburgers - they had no meat in them. Some of us have meatless everydays and we don't suffer from lack of protein. Meat is really not the only, or even the best source of protein.
Next they'll be finding Communist programming in the fact that they make kindergarten children share toys and play nice.

3. I recall decades and decades ago having meatless days, like Pizzaburgers in school... |
|
and I'm exceptionally healthy today. Each day the studies, research, polling and dribble spit out for the most part by the media become more and more meaningless. I would be lost without Keith Olbermann and Rachel Maddow, those sick puppies, as Bush so wisely pointed out, like he was the genius of truth above reproach.

9. I suspect this is yet another case of a infotainer reading a press release |
|
the good ones get the emphasis right - they're like failed actors, IMO. This press release came from the Cattlemen's Association, or Con-Agra, or something like that I'm pretty sure. The sad thing is, people now accept marketing for real news. I thought saturated fats were the enemy of longevity - saturated fats come mostly from animals. I guess the Atkins Diet changed all that. :)

7. Oh, please. Lou Dobbs is a bloated old gasbag. |
|
When I was in school, you either got the one option of "hot lunch" served by the school, or you brought your own. A lot of the time, there was no meat. IMO, the meatless ones tasted the best: Grilled cheese sandwich & tomato soup, or Mac & cheese.
Too bad he couldn't find a way to blame illegal immigrants for Meatless Mondays.

No parents objected - just Lou. He needs to go (go to FOX where he belongs).
What an idiot with his manufactured nonsense.

For a long time, school districts with lots of Catholic kids had meatless Fridays, to placate those parents who had to follow the Pope's edicts. You could always count on mac'n'cheese being on the menu for Friday.
