1. Because Entertainment is Cheaper & More Profitable Than News
Edited on Sun Oct-25-09 04:06 AM by theFrankFactor
Money is priority number one! REAL news staffing and investigative reporters that use primary sources cost money and don't make much. Fucking blubbering freaks attract hoards of morons with easy pockets to pick. It the "free market news" system. Maximize profits, minimize costs. It's all the rage apparently and depending on who you talk to, it's what "makes America great". I think it's poison rotting this nation from the inside out. Dumber, dumber and dumber. A race to the bottom in terms of quality and a race to the top in terms of the bottom line.

In the day news was delivered out of necessity and seen as more of a duty. It wasn't expected to make buckets of cash. Now we have 24 hour "news" zombie channels pumping out certifiable horse shit to fill time and manipulate markets.

3. Sounds like getting an AMA sticker on one's product.
Walmart gets an AMA sticker on their generic listerine because I assume they can pay the american dentist association the money for that sticker. Some can't. Even if it's the same generic stuff.

Fox Gossip Channel has been so right wing, thats all Air Force One aired on the tv's during Bush. So I was a bit shocked that even NBC stood up for Fox on this one. Old media is outdated and out moded. Where's the real news? Anybody with a camera, cell phone, etc... I saw more real news in June in Iran than I'd seen in years.

7. Profits are a big motive but Fake News lost money for years
before Murduck saw any profits. Sometimes it's more important to get your message out and sell it, then you can make money off those idiots you sold it to.

Faux News, the same guys who sued for the right to lie, wants to have a presidential candidate? Getting a bit desperate I would say.

How bout we split the "REPUBLICANS"'' up right now and promote the "FOX" party now!!

6. Does Cenk know faux made up that story from air?
A real story would have other networks defending fox news.

Its not a version of news, its not even reality.

9. The media outlets' defense of Faux shows they're RW shills, too, only not to the same degree.
The media corporations are like corporations in other industries. They're so big and control such a big share of their respective markets that they're content and don't compete. They've become a big fascist fraternity.

That's why they've become such a joke and have been losing audiences to bloggers and websites. That's why I rarely, if ever watch network news.
