These particular individuals were tossed in the primary election. Still, this is a great video and people- power really does trump politicians bought by special interests!

1. yay!
I'm from hillsborough but go to school in the northeast so I have been out of the loop of Chatham County politics. I am happy to see that the people responsible for that disgrace were held accountable!

2. My parents lived in northern Chatham for years--when my mother
moved to a senior citizen community, I had little reason to go down to Pittsboro much. I was down there about six weeks ago, and was astonished at the scraped-up look of 15/501 north of town, where the big-ass Home Depot is (and there's a further shopping center planned). I'm glad some of the residents are getting busy about this, but developers usually prevail, not just here, but everywhere. They find a nice area that still has lowish taxes, bulldoze the trees, disrupt wildlife, and put up ticky-tacky mini-Mcmansions. Developers really know how to get town councils by the short and curlies, or else the bribes are huge. I've seen it over and over, in so many places. Makes me sick. Developers ARE Satan. (only partial sarcasm there!)
