Tx4obama was right!

At the end of his 9 a.m. show today MSNBC's Dylan Ratigan apologized for yelling at Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz during a segment on health care Friday.

He said the incident was a disservice to viewers he will work on when his show moves to a new 4 p.m. time slot.

"What came out in the interview was my incredible frustration," Ratigan said, reading a tweet from someone who called him very "rude."

"I want to apologize to the Congresswoman and to our viewers for that," he said. "I have some work to do."

10 a.m. Host Contessa Brewer told Ratigan his remarks sounded like a New Year's resolution.

On Friday Ratigan tweeted, "Will apologize for losing temper. Won't apologize for challenging lies and misinformation. USA needs apology for destructive false solutions."

He also responded to one of his nearly 6,000 followers, "My temper is a distraction. Govt . is again offering false reform, protecting those who bankroll them and nailing taxpayers."

1. I like Dylan..
He's apologizing for losing his temper, not for what
he said and his reasons for saying it.

3. Won't ever get an apology from a rep or lackey for spinning nonanswers though

Edit to add, the DLC'er artfully dodged the questions and deserves credit for patience and civility if nothing else

4. I saw the interview.
She was attempting to stick to talking points and spin, Dylan wasn't having any of it.

how refreshing it would be had she simply said "The stocks are going up because we failed to get a Public Option into this bill".

It's the truth, everyone already knows it, it doesn't hurt the Democrats to admit it. And she could have followed up with "And we will continue to work on HCR to add a Public Option, or, better yet, adopt a Single Payer solution sometime in the future, but, at present, this bill is the best we could do.

5. I just hate to see the progressives stoop to the level of the right-wing nut-cakes
I watched the interview...and although I get damned tired of "non-answers" too....I hate even worse, watching the vannity/bor type behavior. I get turned off from big Ed too at times. There is a difference.

I can listen to Mike Malloy, and listen to him speak in vulgar language about the scum bags on the right...but he seldom loses his temper and goes off wack. We just don't need to stoop to that level. Call them on it...but don't pop all your freeze plugs in the process.

7. Omg they are moving him to a time I can see him!
Yay! I liked that he didn't let wasserman schultz get away with her filibuster. I like her but the non answer was driving me nuts. I am so happy about the new time slot. Ecstatic really. Can they give Howard Dean a show after Dylan?

8. Ratigan is what good journalism looks like.
He was right to point out that Wasserman Schultz was not answering his questions.

Wasserman-Schultz was trying to get away with sound-bits and talking points.

10. Oh good. He's moving to 4pm. I enjoy the show and will have a chance to
at least catch some of it.

The interview was intense, but when you have someone spinning like she was doing, I can see where it gets infuriating.

That was the day that health care industry profits were on the rise, now at peaks. Clearly, someone thinks "reform" is a boon to health care companies.

Mission accomplished.

11. just watched the interview. Why is holding people accountable considered rude.
If it were a man he was interviewing would people be as outraged? I think not.
