4. Naomi is the man!!!!! Er, I mean da woman!!!!! The Shock Doctrine............ |
|
...........is a great book and gives an amazing insight into modern corporatism/fascism. I am finally getting around now to reading the 10th anniversary edition of No Logo. A truly amazing woman with a pretty interesting family background. Jeez, now I feel like a teenage boy with a crush on my teacher.

He never harnessed our anger for the greater good.
He doesn't get it.

allowed to or doesn't want to.
The ignorance peddlers, the M$M, keep this from being widely known and understood. And is it any wonder?
The GOP will tell their followers that "Too much government regulation caused the problem to start with." The chronically ignorant will lap it up.

26. Why didn't the U.S. nationalize the banks? |
|
Seems to me the taxpayer paid to bailout the banks and not only didn't the taxpayer get anything in return (mortgage refi's, loans, etc.) but actually had their money blatantly wasted in the form of big bonuses and free bank profits (investing taxpayer money in taxpayer subsidized t-bills and pocketing all the profits). One can argue the small points all they want, but this is the essence of what happened.

27. I Wish More People Could Listen To Naomi |
|
Then again, a large percentage of tea bagger type folks I've seen and heard almost certainly could not or would not grasp what she's saying. They don't want to think, they only wrap their mind around short sound bytes like "Operation Iraqi Freedom" and 'ObamaCare"
Obama charted his course the wrong direction pretty quickly, saying nice things to us, but siding with big money interests. He's a leaning right of center moderate in practice, always has been. If he had really been progressive the media would have frozen him out of the race, sat him in the corner with Kucinich and Jugdish.
The situation with big media and corporate rule came about and continues because a huge percentage of people are misguided and/or not bright enough to not continually vote against their (and our) best interests.
So here we are.

28. knr. so, we're getting the "shock treatment" (that she describes in her book) related |
|
to the drastic "free market reforms" in our financial sector, as well as with health care, education, etc. Are these New Dems/DLC attempting to "hit us all at once" with these sweeping changes?
I didn't vote for that kind of reform!
