STRANGE

via Kos:

snip:

And guess what? There's even more fail! Fiorina's campaign is obviously suffering because of Tom Campbell's entry into the race--and Fiorina has decided to attack Campbell, a reputed moderate, from the right. She has launched a new video to do so, called "Fiscal Conservative in Name Only. And this video must be seen to be believed. It's absolute hilarity--portraying pure conservatives as sheep in a field and Tom Campbell as some man-wolf-terminator monster in a sheep costume that would evoke something out of a c-grade sci-fi movie. I don't know who's running their online operations team, but this is their second act of stark raving lunacy. I'm just waiting for their third offering.

3. If she wins the nomination for the republicans, I agree. Campbell is not a slam dunk
A lot of people at HP, and her advice to Arnold have been hurt by Fiornia

If the republicans were smart, which I hope they are not, they will nominate Campbell

6. Pretty . . . well, bizarre, yes . . . stuff,
Edited on Wed Feb-03-10 09:30 PM by HughBeaumont
. . . but also pretty bold shit coming from the woman who fired several thousand workers under her tenures at Lucent and HP. Gutted both companies to the bone, outsourced a great deal of jobs while spending twice as much money to achieve the same revenue as when she started. When she got booted by the board, they scolded her to the tune of a 21 million dollar severance package.

Nice work if you can get it.

Tough Choices indeed.

I commend her for staying strong with her recent bout with breast cancer. But let's not pretend this woman's "borrow and waste" tactics are good for her state. In all of this "tax cut" blather, we're forgetting it's usually the social services that pay the price in all of this. Officers, teachers, firefighters, children's services, libraries, etc.

Edit to add that I'm not serious. :D

14. OMG!!! TAXES!!! We shouldn't be paying TAXES!!!! That's not... conservative!
God help us if we should put money into *our* government. Because the government is *public*. They want money to go to the private sector, as in *private* equals None Of Your Goddamn Business, It's Mine So Butt Out!! *Public* means there's a responsibility to the general public welfare. And how could anybody be "conservative" and care about the welfare of the public? That's like a contradiction.

In other words, these ass hats are just more of the same FCINO bullshitters they purport to be against. In their demonization of government, making it the enemy, they are pushing the public infrastructure into the hands of private, for-profit-only individuals who use the system for their own personal gain only while ignoring the parts that aren't profitable or "sexy". And when money goes from public to private, it moves out of the realm of public accountability into the hands of people with no accountability to the common good of humanity or the environment. We depend solely upon the goodness of their heart. Hahaha! That sure has been working out well over the past several millennia, hasn't it! The absolutely sickening corruption we see today in both the public and private sectors is because of these idiotic "fiscal conservatives". Plain and simple, it rests squarely on their shoulders. And they look like fools denying it.

Yes, they're conservative all right but only when it comes to investing in the general public welfare. But they are fiscally *reckless* when it comes to managing those same tax dollars. Like everything else related to republicans, when they call themselves "conservative" it's just more bullshit hypocrisy spewing out of their filthy mouths.

20. I am a voice-over artist, but...
...I would never stoop to prostituting myself for political ads. Especially ads like this one. There should be a law passed that paid political ads cannot even mention the name of your opponent. What other job do you interview for where your whole approach is "don't hire the other guy, he sucks"? Why do we permit it when it's our leaders we are hiring? Run on your own merits, and if you don't have any, then don't run.

27. MY comments
This ad assumes that conservatism is the automatic fix for fiscal problems?

There is no information in the commercial what so ever to substantiate that in any way shape or form.

Why not do something that is fair and works well like progressive taxation? Sorry, "conservatism" is against anything proven to be both effective and fair.

Conservatism is selfish concentration of wealth that's downright stupid on it's face. How many fucking mansions and planes and cars do you need in life? Anybody that runs any of our failed Institutions that knowingly makes so many suffer for gain they can't even comprehend is a bona fide sociopath, in my opinion.

The only good thing I can say about the ad is that I think Frank Zappa would have enjoyed it for it's dramatically false premise and the cheesy horror movie aroma of the wolf in sheep's clothing? I mean, red eyes? What the fuck is up with that?

28. Dog whistle for the fundies??
I'm trying to make sense of what may be a totally senseless ad. Could the sheep be a metaphor for the fundies (they like to think of themselves as Jesus' flock) and how they cannot trust that guy?
I just have a feeling that somewhere underneath that bizarreness is something we don't get simply because we don't travel in that world.

30. Which seems to be modern-day Republics' SOP:
Trash the broad middle (represented by Campbell) and appeal to the small, hard core of lunatics. A growth strategy if I ever heard one. Kind of what Fiorina did to HP, IIRC.
