Young boy thinks health care sucks |
|
A group of activists visited Congressman Dale Kildee's office. When we came out there was a small group of tea baggers, including this 7-8 year old boy. The video speaks for itself.

I stopped watching at 30 seconds because I didn't wanna throw up the lunch I just had. Regarding your title - if you take out the word 'sometimes' then I'm in full agreement with you. At least regarding 90% of them. The other 10% of us are forced to do the thinking for the rest of the herd.

2. Where do they come up with these beliefs that can easily be debunked? |

Premature babies aren't counted unless they are X number of days old thats why Europe's infant death rates are lower then the USA, can you say Fox news non fact? Hopefully some day that kid will out grow his handi cap of being raised by nit wits.

6. Maybe I misunderstood you, but differences in infant mortality rates between the USA and the EU ... |

... are most definitively not due to European creative accounting.

10. I wasn't saying that, the woman in the video was, she said the reason that Europe's infant death rat... |
|
were lower is because Europe only counts infants after a certain time period. Which is BS unless your anti-choice and believe that America includes abortions in it's infant death rates, wing nuts are very good at doing that kind of crap, then once it's planted in their minds no proof will change their belief. Anyone that has actually looked into infant death rates in the US know that it is lack of health care behind infant death rates being so high.

11. Thanks, sorry I misunderstood your original post. Blame it on lack of caffeine... |

... or lack of neurons from my part.
I always got a hoot how these "pro-lifers" demonize europeans because they *gasp* provide decent coverage and care for their fellow citizens from cradle to grave, over pure profit which is what we all know that Jesus feller talked so much about. The logical dissonance and doublethink coming from that camp is glorious, and frightening at the same time.
I spent a significant amount of time back in the old country. Depending on the EU state, seeing any pregnant woman working past her first trimester is unheard of. Maternity/paternity leaves are many times longer and actual in some regions stay-at home parents get an actual salary to raise their kids. Some regions also offer free child care classes. And in the majority, prenatal care is free and mandatory. So is pediatric coverage of the first years of the infant. In fact, I know of cases of people who got in legal trouble because they missed several appointments with the pediatric doctor as mandated by the checkup schedule. The state argues that its duty is to protect the health of their citizens, regardless of age, so when the parent's interests/entitlement interfere with the child's safety/health/interests, local authorities will side with the baby and demand the parents if they are not keeping track of the mandatory health/education schedule.
Not saying it is paradise over there, nothing of the sort. But in social issues, especially child birth/and social support for children healthcare and development it is like night and day between the EU and the USA. For a country like ours, so hell bent in proclaiming itself the most pious, compassionate, and Christian nation on earth... we are fairly full of shit.

5. I think she is mixing abortion in with infant death rates, over in Europe I am of the understanding |
|
that they don't count abortion as an infant death unlike here in the nit wit states. The wing nuts tend to do crap like that. Just like they believe what they pay for health care covers them and no one else.
