Finally ! A Republican gets why health care reform is needed.

Arizona Congressman Shadegg was not talking about HR 4789 - Medicare You Can Buy Into Act, but this video could be the talking points. Not often we see Congressman Kucinich dumbfounded. I called Congressman Shadegg and thanked his staff.

For information about HR 4789 see: www.WeWantMedicare.org

1.  Reform healthcare after we reform insurance
Healthcare hasn't been touched. Let's get more doctors, more nurses, more medicines, more clinics, lower prices, more freedom.

It isn't that hard, and hasn't even been mentioned.

2. this is the third time today I've hear Repukes call for
more progressive healthcare reform than the Dems have come up with.

I'm almost in awe.

If what I think is happening, IS happening, I will take back everything bad I've recently said about our President.

5.  Having insurance guarantees you nothing.
There have to be doctors, nurses, hospitals etc. True reform will require providing more of everything for an aging citizenry.

13. it was 2 be expected: they can't lie anymore about what's in the bill
wow, a repub for single payer on the 1st day AFTER the vote?! LOL!! just as we predicted. these repubs are sure sleazy. what happened to "we are a free country" free market bullshit?! I thought republicans were for capitalism! BTW in EVERY private multipayer system, like Switzerland and the Netherlands health insurance is compulsory because of adverse selection. there is no other way to run a private for profit system.

4. This is a set up
The repubs know that this is going to be the straw that broke the camel's back, and they are giving the dems all the credit for it. Every repub running in Nov, will be singing this same song.

12. well then all we have to do is call their bluff
one would only hope they are stupid enough to run against the mandate. then we can agree with them and call their bluff to make them vote to repeal or ammend that portion of the bill which most of us on the left hate as well. get them to support the public option too, or even single payer.

still so weird to hear an R sounding exactly like Michael Moore.

6. Set up
They forced the Dems to get rid of any public option and now they can run on that in November. They will play to the angry crowd that is mandated to buy from private insurance.

"Not often we see Congressman Kucinich dumbfounded." you do know he was not part of that conversation, right? that was a clip of his earlier presser.

i hope that clip of shadegg is saved for future reference. maybe grayson can get him to be a co-sponsor on his medicare-for-all bill. :applause:

8. Get real, he's fucking mocking you & trying to get liberals to vote against the bill
Edited on Fri Mar-19-10 11:20 PM by GreenTea
The Republicans are pulling out all the stops, lies, phony documents, even pretending he cares & understands and to be for the public option so progressive Dems might vote against it, anything to try and stop the bill & the democrats from succeeding.

This particular republican, Shadegg, despises health care reform, absolutely hates the public option, as well as Social Security, Medicare, unemployment insurance and the minimum wage.

Typical republican elitist corporate pig.

And this pig Shadegg, is mockingly fucking with the democratic liberals & progressives trying to manipulate them, republicans will try anything to stop Democratic votes from supporting the bill...one at a time.......

Each republican is trying a different tactic to try and stop the Dems from getting 216 votes on Sunday.

Saying he understands is just bullshit tactics, He would NEVER fucking vote for any government program...he's a corporate republican pig through & through!

9. On January 14, 2010, Shadegg announced he would not run for reelection to a ninth term.
In his statement, Shadegg says he will "pursue my commitment to fight for freedom in a different venue."<1>
