When he repeatedly said "I'm not going to attack and smear our President's deceased family or anything" (paraphrased) I instantly turned it off, as it's a well known fact that when he says he's not going to do something he always means the opposite. He's gone way over the line with this one.

11. Holy moly that was entertaining. I better understand the Glenn Beck thing now. The assumption

that his rants are based on is that you can't take Obama at his word about his basic principles/values. (I'm not saying you can take Obama at his word about everything.)

If you start there then you can weave a compelling conspiracy - to people who intuit that the US govt. doesn't operate transparently, but aren't sure exactly who the bad guys are.

Obviously going by Obama's actions and words he's not a socialist; but to people who aren't yet sophisticated when it comes to judging info they hear on TV, just the fact that someone says something on TV makes it compelling.

(In a few years I think a lot of these people will realise they were taken for a ride.)

I still can't determine if Beck is just a bit paranoid, or a cynical propagandist like Rush L. Probably a bit of both but I'm leaning more towards paranoid. Though I find it hard to believe he really thinks Obama is 'seizing control of' and 'taking over' all private industry.

I used to think Bill Clinton was some kind of diabolical master of duplicity until I came to the conclusion that he was generally a well-meaning and talented man who let himself be compromised in a few critical areas.

I bet Glenn B has as many sexual skeletons in the closet as Bill Clinton did (I only bring this up because Beck did here); he comes across to me as a guilty-ashamed kind of guy who doesn't tell his wife everything she needs to know. (I used to hide stuff from my partner as well so I'm not just being holier-than-thou.)

I think the Tea Party movement (and probably Glenn Beck himself) is going through the novice stage of its internet conspiracy phase - and can't yet discern real conspiracies from the glamorous grand ones that religious and socially dysfunctional people especially are enthralled by.

One thing Beck said that was wrong/misleading is that 'Obama seized control of the student loan industry and wiped it out'.
What Obama actually did was take away the subsidies (tax payer dollars) away from the banks - saving us $68 BILLION dollars.

"Critical Thinking" is a school of sociology, not a political ideology. Unitarian Universalists are well known religious denomination in the U.S. The government of Kenya has historically been pro-western or non-alligned.

Glenn Beck thinks Communism grows on trees. He should really open a book sometime, because if he did, he'd realize that not everything "outside of the box" is Communist, and maybe Communist is not just a synonym for evil, but an actual thing.

I was raised by republicans parents and their parents were republicans. My mom worked at state capitol and their best friends were republican senators and one of their daughters lived with us a couple of years and was my good friend. When she turned old enough to vote she voted republican (an absentee ballot and her dad stood behind her as she filled it out as I tried to give him hell, but that's beside the point)
My younger sisters are republicans.

I am clearly a republican then and even if I never voted for a republican and donate to only Dems and work for only Dems and vote for only Dems...
you might like to believe me when I say I am a liberal but now that you know about my childhood, how can you. Who taught be liberal principals? There was no one in my childhood to do that.
Because Beck has made clear... the political leanings of those around us as children absolutely determines out future.

The tragedy of Beck's childhood is that it ever was. Imagine if his dad had pulled out early! Imagine the tweak of IQ elevation on the airwaves as a result of that early withdrawl. Imagine a country where there were premature withdrawls of the fathers of all Beck's viewers!

Is there enough age disparity to where it would be calendrically possible that Limbaugh is Beck's daddy? Maybe Limbaugh's dad was a sperm bank depositor, and Glenn's foster dad was too busy bakin' bread to have bread a son of his own! :crazy:
