1. WOW!
It's amazing how little that legislator new about the bill or the current law. He just doesn't care because he feels he will not be targeted by the new law.

Thanks for this video.

2. One more thing
The guy actually mentions Obama and Nazi's and then turns around and supports this Gestapo like bill! Amazing hypocrisy.

Like I said, whenever a Republican accuses a Democrat of something, you can always assume that the Republicans are doing it themselves and the accusation is just a smoke screen.

8. Thanks for posting this.
I had heard on the radio that this had happened, but I didn't want to cite it as fact without more backup.

It's not illegal, in this country, to be out in public without ID. Further, what the law requires is that a person who is suspected by the police of being here illegally show his immigration papers. Guess what, folks: natural-born citizens don't have immigration papers. We're not issued passports at birth, either, so if we don't carry our birth certificates, we're screwed. In fact, Arizona doesn't accept Obama's birth certificate, so why should we expect it to accept ours?

I hope this guy sues for wrongful arrest. Heck, I hope he charges that cop with kidnapping and wrongful imprisonment. No citizen should be asked for his papers, when he has committed no crime.

That's a good point. They could call anything you provide illegal or illegitimate. It's just a nutty bill.

24. NY Times says it will be implemented 90 days after signed
so that is either very late July or in August.

So I'm wondering too.

36. A cop doesn't always know the law...
They are not required to study or get a degree in law as an attorney is. They are only trained in law enforcement. Here's proof already in the OP's video. The police officer knew about the law, probably knew it was signed, but didn't know it wasn't in effect yet, AND already misinterpreted it. This will be the story over and over again and it will be fun to watch the lawsuits develop. I hope this guy contacts an attorney.

19. 4409
4409?
i hope everyone knows what 4409 is and what they stand for.
one of their biggest guys is pastor steven anderson (the preacher who prays for obama to die). 4409 is a huge anti government/anti single payer/anti demorat group.
they didn't make this video to protect immigrants, they made it to try to portray the entire government as a nazi establishment. these guys are neo-cons. no kidding here.

23. They're not neocons, they are paleo/libertarian Ron Paul types, lol.
They are 9/11 truthers and such, so that is one reason I refer to them as Ron Paul types, as Paul is not a truther. But you're
right, they are nuts. But they did get some great footage, the explanations the individual could not give about the law, very telling.

What can I say, sometimes nuts can make a contribution.

32. If there are any decent cops in Arizona
they should start asking state legislators and judges and lawyers for their papers, jailing those without birth certificates in hand. "Reasonable suspicion" can be that anyone with that kind of power also has the social mobility to have come from another country, perhaps illegally.

Heck, they should start pulling over the other cops when they're off duty.

A taste of their own medicine might be just what they need.

Maybe a good idea to wait until the law goes into effect, since before then such arrests could be deemed kidnapping.

Can the law be read to allow for citizens' arrests on these grounds? If so we could have some serious fun at their expense this summer. I wonder what happens to a freeper's bowels when being driven over a dirt road handcuffed in a windowless van?

Just kidding of course. And it's absolutely horrifying to think that sort of thing will really be happening under indemnified legal protection to innocent people until we stop this.

that says cops can ask you for ID. It was a case out of Indiana, IIRC.

Other than that, great video.

a birth certificate even when you have shown your ID? And then to be arrested when you have shown your ID, but don't have a birth certificate on you?

I doubt they think McVey (the guy arrested in Asheville, NC as Air Force One was taking off) is a patsy... but they might think McVeigh was.
