1. Why can't he just be honest?
Would'nt it seem more honest if he simply said that "Yes, i do think she is a bigot and i think she should vote conservative!"

Instead we see the sleazy politician going back to her house with a full press corps.

More points for LibDems i guess.

2. Well, he WOULD be sorry, wouldn't he?
After all, he's just dramatically increased the chances that he'll do to Labour what Lloyd George did to the Liberals in 1922...lead them to oblivion.

3. I'm unclear on something:
Was this a gaffe or more of a gaffé? Big difference!

4. Most in the UK are finding it pretty hilarious, it's actually made him more real to people.

5. buh bye
May labour suffer a slow painful death. And here's to the birth of a new Lib Dem party. Maybe in a couple of elections we can have the conservatives be the third tier with Lib dems leading and labour in a distant second after they have been sufficiently punished for going to Iraq and dismantling the few socialy progressive programs that Blair implemented when he wasnt being Bush's poodle.

7. Mortified because he thought she was a bigot or because the media picked up the comment
Why not do what Joe Biden did when he was caught on microphone talking about health care? I meant what I said, maybe I should have found different words to express my belief.

If Eastern European and other immigrants & their children cannot gain the same rights and privileges of British citizens, what else could she possibly want?
