as I sit in the hearing of the RNC 8. The young organizers of food and shelter all the protesters coming to the RNC in 2008 at St Paul. We call them the RNC 8, they were charged with felony to commit conspiracy to riot and futher terrorism.

In the hearing yesterday the Prosecusor said they were wearing black and part of the "black blocs".. so the law-enforcment targeted those were black.. seriously.. that is what he said.

You can "what if" forever and in my opinion, in the end it is a useless exercise.

If a bunch of black people were waving guns at the white house(let's assume Bush was in the White house) fox news would be calling them terrorists. Bill O'Leily and Beck would be calling for martial law and saying I told you so. We would have endless fox commentators commenting on those lazy, violent black folks. However if they were black they would probably not call themselves the tea party, because while the founders of the consitution may have been outraged at the thought of paying taxes to Britain they turned a blind eye to slavery.

Basically it is part of the double standard, like what if Obama had a daughter under 18 pregnant, or what if his significant other had belonged to a group of people calling for the overthrow of the US government in Alaska, what if black people were talking about sedition? It is very relevant and only republicans or very ignorant people would think otherwise.

Are you a closet teabagger or something? You sure seem very protective of them. Actually when I read posts as stupid as yours I use a little feature called ignore. You dont seem to realize this is not some hypothetical question but a very real issue. I dont know what color you are but if there were a group of black people waving guns in people's faces and spitting at congressmen like your friends the teabaggers they definitely would be in jail and this is not hypothetical. I ususally tend to be polite to even republicans who disagree with me but I will make an exception in your case.

Bill Maher always cuts through the bullshit. I loved when George Will took offense at the very idea that racists would vote republican. Being a white person I have met quite a few gun nuts who just happened to also be racists. Told me it was my duty to be in some kind of militia or something and I better be sure which side I am on or they may not help me when the black hordes come and rape my mother.
