for all the beautiful innocent animals being destroyed by this oil mess.

5. This is not a new technology. I will be interested to see how this would work. |
|
It's a gallon per minute problem. He makes equipment that typically separates 5 gpm and the one in the video looks substantially faster, maybe 25 gpm. At 200,000 gallons that's 130 gallons per minute at the head. That doesn't take into consideration what has already escaped. The reason that it is not 100% efficient is because the water molecules eventually get small enough that the weight equals the oil and therefore the centrifuge doesn't separate it anymore. The rest has to be removed by coalescing filters or a vacuum. My company is currently building a more efficient prototype vacuum unit than what is out there.

8. I saw this morning on MSNBC they gave it a trial AND |
|
you could see it separate the water and oil. Then the water goes thru cleaning and it is 97% drinkable. Costner said they are working on making it 100% drinkable. The guy smelled the water and there was NO oil smell.
