1. I would have told the Coast Guard they had two choices... |
|
either "fuck off" or arrest me so I can sue the shit out of them, BP and anyone else even remotely involved. Then I would have gone back to what I was doing.

like the rest of the Uniformed Services, serves at the pleasure of the Commander in Chief, and as such, follows his orders. I would have to conclude, then, that the CIC has authorized the USCG to do this.
I base this conclusion on my 22yrs of active duty service in the US Navy. If he did NOT authorize this, then heads should already have rolled. Having said that, I am guessing that as the criticism of this Admin. heats up, the CG will be offered up as a sacrifical lamb/scapegoat.

20. You can't "repeal" Corporate personhood. It's not a law. |
|
It comes from a SCOTUS decision. The legislature would have to enact a law stating Corporations can sue and be sued. Maybe give them some limited rights like aliens. But not the full privileges and immunities of citizens.

7. Once again, the government works for private corporations, NOT US |
|
When are we going to demand that this practice end? BP officers should be in JAIL, not being aided by our government in their cover up efforts. They MAKE the rules?? Since when????

Are we going to start allowing serial killers to run the investigation and clean up on their murders?

16. What kind of boat is that? |
|
Looks like the sort of boat one might charter for fishing. I wonder if this is what BP is doing to try to pay oof local folks--giving them wads of cash to keep reporters away.
Next camera crew should bring a lawyer.

|
were in charge in our government, where is the White House on this? Where is the AG? This is insanity a severe breach of First Ammendment protection. Is this the new normal? Are we in a dictatorship now?
I am getting seriously sick. They cause the worst unnatural disaster in our history and get a pass to cover it up and all for what BP isn't going to suffer they will pass on the costs of the clean up to us through higher gas prices and our government will just let them do it...
I reapeat I am sick.

26. Excuse me but I need to spell it out... |
|
What the F*&^*%&*#... How does a private company set the rules for the coast guard? And a British company at that. Can we say that multinational capitalism has overcome the nation state yet??? This has GOT to be an issue that Obama can move on. It's something that the Tea partiers are bound to agree with. I can't believe the Rand Paul statement that Obama is unamerican for criticizing BP. We need to spell it out for these Tea Partiers immediately. Effing up our precious wetlands and beaches because you had to make a buck is what's unamerican. The Federal government needs to step in and work to fix this immediately. What a disaster. It makes me want to scream.

Where is the press on this. We screamed to high hell when Bush restricted the filming of caskets, why no outcry when we cannot witness the damage that BP created.

I see 7 people total - 6 in the back and one in the front cabin. The reporter says there are two Coast Guard officers on board. Who are the other 5 people? Who do they work for? Starting around timestamp 0:12

would have been great news.
Would have been allowing themselves to be the news, but there's exceptions to a lot of rules.
