Please join our effort to boycott any candidates who receive campaign donations from BP in 2010. Whether you are concerned about the environment or accountability, this is the best way for us to make sure our interests are taken into account by our elected representatives. While you may or may not agree that they have the right to give to any candidate they choose, those candidates should know that we think that until this mess is cleaned up, it's inappropriate for them to take donations from BP.

1. You should not use Republican examples in your pitch.

Clearly Sarah Palin is just looking for any excuse to bash the president. If you think you will get Republicans on board, you are just wastin everybody's time.. Do you seriously think that the members of that party are not going to refrain from voting for a candidate because they are in bed with an oil company? Listen to Rush Limbaugh say over and over again that "Oil is the lifeblood of capitalism" and then sit back and think about how they see things. You seriously think that Freedomworks gives a shit? By using the testimonials of people and groups that you, yourself, know do not care AT ALL about the environment, you are really muddying your message. Skip the bullshit testimonials by Palin and Freedomworks and focus on people who might support your cause.

5. Not really trying to poo poo on your idea

I do applaud your idea and putting the time forward to try to make something meaningful happen. There were a couple of things that I did see problematic with it, but I could be wrong. Hey, it happens all of the time. So, regardless of my initial criticism, keep up the great fight. At least you are doin something, which puts you apart from the many others out there and I hope something good comes from it.
