1. But, my lovely Rachel, it doesn't matter. It doesn't matter because facts don't matter.
And that is a very sad thing indeed.

6. Your are.........
Absolutely Correct !!!! X's infinity. This is a conservative meme meant to sweep out the Democrats. The sad part is, I wish we did have an alternative to either party.

9. I'm all for stronger "third" parties - if nothing else they can keep the main ones in check
but I'm also a "fix it don't throw it out" kind of person.

11. In the American political system...
Edited on Fri Jun-11-10 12:06 AM by SILVER__FOX52
you have to change the politicians within the party structure, to change the system, ie get rid of the so called Conservedems, in our case. Third parties always lead to the split of one of the major parties. That would be great, if the Tea Baggers, really organize a separate party. I'm 58 years old and I never thought that I would ever see the Whitehouse mocking the unions effort to get rid of that bitch corporatist, Lincoln. What the hell is a conservative democrate, anyway. I always thought that they could only exist in the nutball South due to the fact that Abraham Lincoln was a Republican. It's so odd because I really believe that the Country is much more progressive then the current makeup of our representatives. How does this shit happen?

12. Not sure, but I think it happens out of fear
fear of losing their jobs, combined with getting large sums of money from corporate interests. This part of it makes me think that even a viable third party would just become the thing they fought against.

Back to the fear thing, the Dems have been told time and time again by the corporate media that Americans are conservative, so they pander to that.

5. The media is behind on this one...
Anti-incumbent rage took place in 2006 and 2008. But the corporate masters did not catch that one. Or perhaps the corporate controlled media is hoping they can convince the nation to put republicans back in power with this ridiculous and totally false narrative.

7. If the GOP held majorities in Congress...
...then the headlines would be reading, "Voters Affirm Confidence in GOP"

8. That's right
The only time you seem to hear this meme is when the Democrats are in the majority. I guess it sort of makes sense within the confines of the Republican party as they are anti-government and obviously they would want to kick out anybody in the government that might actually make the government work. I don't think among independents and Democrats you would get the same view. I also think the far rightwingers operate much more on emotion so a 'rage' story is definitely aimed at them.

10. I am coming to the conclusion that the only political news we need to
Edited on Thu Jun-10-10 04:22 PM by activa8tr
listen to, on a daily basis, is Rachel Maddow!

She always gets the facts in, she and Keith, and maybe some of Ed Shultz... otherwise, why bother with any other TV political news???

Really, I'm serious.

The rest of it, media or print, is just hype, and never very factual.

15. Actually I find Grit TV to be more of the "gotcha" journalism than
comprehensive. And I can live without it.
