The deficit is a problem, says independent Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont, but we need to deal with it as progressives, not by cutting spending. Invest in America.

We've tried the Republican way for 30 years. Cut taxes for the rich. Enable corporations to privatize the profits and socialize the losses. Give the Pentagon a blank check every year.

I agree with you. But the GOP and their corporate benefactors have co-opted the media and the message. They have successfully clouded the water so the public doesn't even understand that we have been trying the Republican way for 30 years.
