Republicans Blocking Unemployment Extensions |
|
June 19, 2010 President Barack Obama accused Republicans on Saturday of blocking legislation that would boost the nation's economic recovery and lift a $75 million cap on what oil companies must pay to families and small businesses affected by an oil spill. (June 19)

11. Yes, to that! And no pensions, no health care insurance, and no |
|
unemployment compensation for that group of lying bastards.
And 10 years when they can't get a job lobbying either.

3. I like what he said here. |
|
And I like the way he said it. And it appears to have been timed right.

5. Yes. He has a great attitude. |
|
Problem is that he needs to carry a big stick. If the Bush administration leaders were under indictment for some of the crimes they committed, the Republicans in Congress would be much more cooperative.
Great speech, but Obama is just too kind to the Republican jerks.

10. His attitude does not fit the times |
|
In an age where you can give republicans 100% of what they are asking for and still have them vote against anything that you try to pass, you have to give up on this bi-partisan crap and do your job.

13. Maybe the dems need a focus group |
|
If Obama actually saw what it looked like to watch an entire group of people clawing their eardrums out when the term "we need to be more bipartisan" was said, it might change his mind.

7. They should, if they cared. |
|
Then again, if they cared, they would have passed the damn extension! I just started Tier 2 and am worried as hell.
Do Republican senators think that the unemployed workers in their states aren't hurting, too? Or maybe they think we're just lazy. I'd love to see them support a family with a part-time job that pays $7.25 an hour!

6. His jobs stimulus has failed, and this is Political Grandstanding in my opinion |
|
People need more jobs, and the hundreds of Billions of dollars given to the bank only allowed them to keep the horrifyingly large inverntory of Houses empty and off the market.
People seem to forget this, and somehow, when this timid centrist sheep of a president uses some tepid harsh language to place the blame on others, they swoon.
Unfortunately, if people have not noticed, the Democrats should have been able to pass these bills without the Republicans, but alas, it was publicized last week that the Blue Dog's also voted right alongside the Republicans..
I'm sure the Administration is hoping that fact does not get air time, and this is a good way to divert attention.
There is no money for more unemployment without ending these ongoing wars. It's that simple. Even if the wars ended tomorrow, there still would be no money for useless dribbles of Unemployment funds, which mean nothing for the long term.
Alt-A's are resetting now, and Unemployment is running out for millions.. This is the start of the Second Phase and the Administration is desperate. They are trying to shift the blame, thats all. The collapse is coming, regardless of how they spin it.

Tax the corporations, or rather, simply re-instate the 35% tax rate that they should've been paying for the last 30 years of conservative rule and we'd HAVE the money we need.
And I don't care how YOU spin it, there is zero excuse for not allowing appointed nominees to take their jobs---except insane, destructive, Republican politics-as-usual.

Before his election they called Obama a dangerous orator! We were told that America was going to become the new "Rodina"! Well I wish we had some euro-style socialism! Why hasn't he blasted the Republicans? Instead he has given a WEAK repeat VERY WEAK performance on job creation. We gave more to AIG alone then to infrastructure development!
Obama should have played the "class warfare card". Oh dear me now I did it! We wouldn't want to be so forceful. Just think of the bad karma we would inherit! - Yeah right. The Republicans have no problem playing the race card or the sexual orientation card. They scared Americans krapless with the nonsense of "Death Panels". Obama's reply! Well let's meditate on the new Democratic Party mantra ---> "MEOW"
When will we start to label the Republicans as the Corporate COLLECTIVISTS that they are! They want middle class Americans to subvert our class interest to the CORPORATE COLLECTIVE!
I don't want to hear about how many days I have to work into the new year until I am not paying taxes! The Republicans like to say we work till May something then what we earn is ours. Well why not force every corporation to tell each employee how many days they have to work to reach what the CEO made on day #1 of the new year! I bet most will finish the year and still not reach what an exec made on day #1.
