He managed to convice her parents to name him as the "legal guardian" of their daughter, in lieu of marriage. Never mind the implications of having sexual relations with the child he was "guarding," technically he used his legal guardianship for a purpose nowhere near what the letter of the law was intended for....thus making Nugent's newfound "concern" for the law that much disgustingly hypocritical.

But then again, that is why he is one of the main mouths for the conservative movement...

He believes the threat of being shot is enough to keep illegal immigrants out, but it has to be believable, so you have to really intend to shoot them.
