2. Would that be an iPod Touch? |
|
Or an iPod Nano? Or the iPod shuffle?
Can your daughter buy an iPhone and have that cover 6 months of the debt? How would the voice and data plans fit into this?

You'd think a politician who wrote a letter to President Bush asking for a pardon for a man convicted of money laundering, gun & drug traffiking & mixed up with convicted felon Tom Petter's Ponzi scheme... not to mention accepting $10K from and having her picture taken with a guy who ran a sham charity... would shy away from talking about felons, but not Michele Bachmann. http://tinyurl.com/Bachmann-Felons

10. I love the Coleman won argument she has. LOL |
|
I see every right wing nut case out there is repeating the whole Coleman won because Felons voted. First this study was done by a "conservative watch dog group" (code word for GOP political hacks). But the most they come up with is 340 felons that voted. Franken won by 314. So that would mean Franken got almost all the Felon votes?? Come one!!

30. Newsflash Michelle... |
|
...It doesn't freaking matter. They have the right to vote.
Two other things, of course:
1) The claim assumes they all voted for Franken. Why? Because otherwise it's meaningless.
2) Are they talking about guys in jail? Or guys who served their time and are trying to integrate into society?

Felons can vote in MN if their case has been completed. Granted they can't have a gun forever, but they can vote after completion of their case.

15. So how much are our daughters paying for Iraq and Afghanistan? |
|
Incidentally, I see that according to some Republicans over at the Ministry of Truth, Afghanistan is now Obama's war, which he chose to fight in spite of all historical precedent.
I also see the Gops are sticking to the whole "ACORN is a criminal enterprise" meme.

|
Edited on Thu Jul-15-10 04:15 PM by dflprincess
(and, strangely, where she lives). There is some hope that Stillwater might wind up in Betty McCollum's district after the next redistricting. This is especially likey if Minnesota loses a Congressional seat.
And, once a felon has met any terms of their release, Minnesota does reinstate their civil rights. So there may very well have been felons voting, but many would have done so legally.

34. It's a comparison thing |
|
Apparently each taxpayer's share of the bailout is equivalent to an iPod per month for the rest of her life. (This assuming iPods won't get more expensive.)
She's leaving something out, tho: were it not for the Republicans foisting the Commodity Futures Modernization Act and the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act down the throats of the American people, and were it not for the bankers deciding to print their own money through mortgages and derivatives no one--least of all the people issuing them--could understand, we wouldn't have needed to bail out the banks in the first place. Apparently we were just supposed to go to your mom and tell her, "We're awfully sorry you can't eat this week, but we didn't want to fetter the banks' ability to make money by telling them not to do this:
write Option ARMs to couples who both work at Walmart, on $500,000 homes. tranche the Option ARMs into Mortgage-Backed Securities no one will buy because it's fairly apparent the original mortgages will default in three years. then retranche the MBS into Collateralized Debt Obligations with other MBS written against loans just as toxic. when no one buys those CDOs, retranche them again and again, with other things stirred in, until someone actually buys them. then write Credit Default Swaps against these shaky CDOs. After writing them, tranche the CDS into Synthetic CDO.
By the time they're done, they were able to turn $500,000 worth of surety (most people say "$500k of risk" but in this case there is no risk. "Risk" implies the homeowner might default on his obligation, which of course means there's also the chance he won't. In this case there is no risk--you KNOW the homeowner will be living in a van down by the river within three years.) into a $3.5 million disaster waiting to happen.

39. Bachman isn't mad thar felons voted, she's mad because she assumes they voted for Franken, |

in Florida she had no problems with active duty service personel votes being counted, because she assumes they would have swung towards Kerry. Situational ethics are the hallmark of teabaggers.
