have any logic to me. It's a slow moving system and it's far more doable with a 60+ senate and robust house. We do accountable in primaries if we know what's good for us we become a united force after that point to see them past the post. Undecided or protest votes are simply votes for Republicans unseated Dems move on, it sends no message but for Democrats to start moving right, again. We sent that message for 30 years, time for new message of support.

Since when did sense have anything to do with it?
It's all emotional, religious and traditional (as in outdated science and notions)

I just don't get it. The American people are behind repealing "don't ask don't tell". Get it done for God's sake, and reinstitute Lt Dan Choi, and anyone else who was forced out because of this ridiculous policy.

I'm IN the service right now, at a forward deployed location with only the pentagon channel and the Armed Forces Network on my TV. We recieve emails, surveys, public service announcements encouraging us to complete the surveys because (in the very words of the generals on the commercials) "We need to hear from the one's that will be most effected by this."
So there you have it, delay tactics, census gathering, surveys. We're waiting for all the votes to come in as it were.
Or at least that's what I see from where I'm sitting.

24. another reason Sharon's in a hole.. |
|
He'd better follow through. He's got the freaking ring. Good video clip! I was never for or against gays in the military. However I've switched that to I'm for gays in the military because the arguments especially by Choi has left a big doubt in my mind that a military that has to lie and hide behind things is open to corruption and bribery. We we fail if we run things that way. Especially if the troops who serve with him have no problem with it. Ironically when I had a job. We all got fired /laid off together (technically they eliminated the mail room, so it's not even laid off) worked along with someone who was both asian and gay. Lots of bad things were said behind his back and yes if I remove the race element out of it it's just gay which is where the racist part comes in. If Bill O Fuckme would figure that out he wouldn't be a dumbshit. I said that to myself one day and finally figured out where I was going wrong. Bill O still doesn't see it. He doesn't see anything wrong with wow this is pretty good for a Black Restaurant. Ahem when it should be wow this is a great restaurant.
I didn't vote for Obama because he was a great Black Democrat. I voted for Obama because he was a great Democrat. Yes being white there's things in the mind that'll make you slip that up like what I did up above but I recognize that 2 seconds or less afterwords. Really Choi is a great Military leader. I wish him well and hopefully he'll go back to his unit.

37. Obama is not stalling. The repeal is in the Defense Appropriations bill. |
|
Now it is up to Congress to vote to pass it. Waiting on the FULL SENATE to vote now and that will make the repeal PERMANENT. If Obama were to only sign an executive order than the 'next' president could reverse it.
Update below:
MAY 28, 2010 House Votes To Repeal DADT
As part of defense appropriations bill, the House approved a repeal of the "don't ask, don't tell" policy largely along party lines. The vote was 229-186, with nine Republicans joining the majority and 26 Democrats voting against.
Defense Secretary Robert Gates endorsed the change when it became clear that Congress would not wait for the completion of a policy review being conducted by the military. The repeal's sudden move up the schedule was reportedly the work of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
The Senate Armed Services Committee approved the repeal as part of the appropriations bill as well. But the legislation has not yet headed to the floor.
