1. The 'End Times' won't really begin until
The Republicons steal their way back into power and make it happen.

5. I personally hope there is such a thing as the "End Times"
Then, all these Repub and ultra right wing bastards will be raptured and the rest of us left behind can proceed to do some real work that might improve the lot of mankind.

3. "Doctor" what a fucking joke.
So many things I could go off about on this. "Doctor" means teacher, right? When did it come to mean terrorist like Le Haye?
And of course, I know not what a good christian is, but based on my observations, Jimmy Carter is far closer to what Christ supposedly espoused than any right winger I have seen.
BUT MOSTLY - do assholes like this - who meddle in government based on their religious ideals - do they get fucking tax breaks? IF I WERE PRESIDENT I would have every fucking pulpit in the country miked. And any mention of government policy from the pulpit (pro or con) and BANG! end of the tax break! One more way to balance the budget.

6. Having gone through he fun and games of grad school to earn one of them doctorates...
... it pisses me to no end when people who practice glorified santeria, use the term "doctor" to refer to their worthless degree in superstition.

7. LaHaye was part of the John Birch Society

The Left Behind series is a setting for his paranoid point of view.

Sugar coated, where "Jew Banker" becomes "International Banker", and the Rockefellers are in on it too, giving him gentile cover against accusations that he's anti-semantic.

And over the top Right-Wing nuttery and lots of sexism.

A page by page analysis of the first two books:

9. The Rapture Index....
If one wants to keep track of the imminent "Rapture", here is "The Rapture Index":

If only this could be incorporated into the Dow-Jones Industrial Average, there could be a true reflection of satanic activity!

All due to a book that frequently plagarizes ancient Sumerian texts and laws.

Not to mention was written by men who knew less about their own world than the average 3rd grader does today.

And, BTW, Carter knew exactly what was going on at the time and if we had been following his advice for the past 30 years, we'd be in a LOT better shape. Carter wanted Americans to cut back, conserve, rethink the waste... etc. The only thing he didn't "get" was that Americans would fall for the Right Wing "Greed is good" lie and the extent of the criminal activity the Reagan folks would go to to oust him. Actually, all that palling around with terrorists the Reagan people did, to the point of keeping hostages captive longer for Reagan's benefit, proves Carter had a real chance for reelection, doesn't it?. Hell the same people had to bring the Supreme Court in to get their second and worst cardboard cutout PR fake president in....Dubya.

11. it's a shame the things of God get tied so to rabid right-
wingers.

Had Messiah come during these times, he would have been arguing with them as he did with the Pharisees and Torah teachers 2000 years ago.

Peace and love ... what concepts.

Edited on Wed Jul-28-10 12:00 PM by AlbertCat
Which god? And what things? The fact he doesn't exist?

The only thing that gives these fools power is that other fools believe in gods. Without all those delusional believers, they'd have no power.

I would remind all that this god of love and peace and kumbaya is not in the Bible any more than the "Rapture" bull shit.

Just keep on making fairytales up.....

if these religious wacko republicans want the end of times so bad, I wish that every one of the religious wacko republicans would be the ones destroyed and let the rest of the sensible people, Democrats, sensible republicans and Independents alone.

15. As my old friend Harold would say, "That's when two fools met."
Talk amongst yourselves; I'll give you a topic: Is there any way NOT to live in the end times, if everything material eventually comes to an end?

Dr. Timmy has somehow confused an economc/social system, socialism, with religion. Jesus just didn't go there; he went to people's hearts, instead (which, by the way, He found to be rather hard).

Edited on Wed Jul-28-10 12:14 PM by AlbertCat
Isn't religion a social system....with rules for people to live by and with each other? Does it not impliment, judge and indeed punish based on those rules?

Does religion not take in money to support it and achieve its goals?

Religions are nothing but ancient governments who's high office holders, rulers, claim some kind of divine authority.(America is an experiment in NOT doing that very thing.)

26. religion should be treated like pornography.
Edited on Fri Jul-30-10 05:13 AM by bowens43
It shouldn't be allowed on the public airwaves and it should be illegal to expose innocent children to such nonsense. Seriously , in this day and age those who still are true believers should be ridiculed, not put on television as if they have something of value to the national conversation.

the root cause of the problem is that because of religious indoctrination of our young, a significant percentage of the population doesn't see him babbling idiot that he is.
