Kevin Yoder is the GOP candidate for Congress 3rd district KS. Some senior citizens went to his office to ask him to sign a statement supporting SS.

1. Perhaps his support for Social Security is something like those kids of "his".

3. That was too bizarre
Have you ever been to one of his legislative forums? He's an ASS. Really stupid too.

2. I have not been following this guy but -
given his last name he has to be Mennonite.

Has he left the collective?

4. Interesting you would ask
Yes he is from a Mennonite family in southeast KS. He claimed recently his family has been in Kansas for more generations (10?) than there have been white people living here.

He made a commercial with kids and his wife and a dog. Only the wife was his.

He was president of the Young Democrats at KU. Now 10 years later he is a conservative republican.

5. Ok - this is my first reaction re: pretend kids.
He must be gay.

Is he from Yoder?

8. I just checked him out. He is from Yoder.
His bio is a rather strange one for someone from that community. I have a couple dozen family members that live in Reno County - I will ask them what happened to him. As you may know, in central Kansas everyone knows everyone.

His bio said that he is 5th generation grain farmer. I think my family has him beat by a generation.

9. Someone trying to follow a twist on Obama's model for "crossover" votes?
That won't work if you're not smart enough to do it, but then smart doesn't really matter to Republicans, since all they're looking for really is someone to give them cover on Peace issues, which they might assume a Mennonite would, all for free, of course, since we're talking about a state office here, so they wouldn't have to put their money where their mouth is when it would comes to a vote on actual war funding, so he can talk against that all he wants.

Since he claims to be such a deficit hawk, someone needs to get to the 3rd District with some info about how Yoder's support for the Bush Tax Cuts will add $39 Billion to the Deficit.

10. Someone also needs to review farm subsidies.
I just looked through the farm subsidy database for Reno County - largest (dollar) recipients. There are more than a handful of Yoders on the list.

Kevin might not like SS and probably hates welfare for individuals but no doubt loves the farmer's welfare.

6. I'm sure that his is the type of support of which Lenin spoke.
He supports it like a rope supports a hanging man.

11. Did you make this reference because you are aware that these
Kansas Mennonites migrated from Russia?

13. Big deal
That video is just showing a staffer trying to receive information from constituents, while not committing his boss to anything. That's the aide's job. You would see that scenario repeated 9999 times out of 10000 if you went to any other Congresscritter's offices (regular or campaign) and tried to get the underling to sign his/her employer officially on to any policy of any kind.
