Youtube blurb:

"This is a radio ad by "America's PAC" attempting to target African American voters with a right-wing message. I've added some commentary to the audio."

1:15 run time

This has to be the absolute worst ad I have ever heard. I read about it, but I hadn't heard it with my own ears. I'm off to bleach my brain now. :puke:

1. What in the world?
And they wonder why black people don't vote for them? This is precisely the reason why they only get small amounts of black votes, they insist on insulting them.

3. How bad is this ad? Let me count the ways.
Edited on Sun Nov-12-06 02:37 PM by BerryBush
1. The disclaimer at the opening--saying who paid for it--is in a white female voice so corn-pone that it's almost comical. Like saying, "If yer a REAL Southerner with REAL Southern values, y'all will vote Republican, lahk us."

2. The music is cheesy.

3. The casting is terrible. The second guy "sounds" African American and sufficiently unslick for his role, but the first guy sounds like some slick, accentless white DJ who does voiceovers for a living. He's completely unconvincing in the role of "shiftless black guy" he's expected to portray here--a guy who plays the slots, has no job, and cheats on his wife, vs. the responsible war veteran who avoids gambling, helps his kids with homework, has a job, stays faithful to his wife, and votes Republican.

4. The acting is terrible. The "irresponsible" guy almost walks on the other guy's lines, saying things in response to what he says before he's barely finished talking. Completely unconvincing. Of course, the script doesn't help, because how can you sound believable speaking such bad lines?

5. The script is terrible. We're supposed to believe that a man would respond to one of his friends saying "You cheat on your wife" by simply laughing and saying, "A man's gotta do what a man's gotta do!"? Please! No outrage? No "How do YOU know?" Not even a "Hey, what would YOU do if you were me and she had a headache for five years straight every night?" And then there's the absurd and insulting attempt at Ebonics: "Man, that's cold!" "bro," "one of your hos," "toot sweet" and "I don't snuff my own seed." The parts of this that are spoken by the guy who "sounds white" sound especially absurd when said by him.

6. The reasoning is absurd. Yeah, so war makes people value their lives. In that case, hey, let's ALWAYS have a war, so people always know what's valuable about life! And of course, if you have a job you will want your taxes low, as opposed to those welfare cheats who live off high taxes. No talk here about what other things taxes pay for from which everyone, including working people, benefits, hm? And the idea that somehow being anti-gay marriage "protects" the marriages of straight people who are cheating on their spouses anyway? Or that a man who is faithful to his wife needs the "protection" of his marriage that will be produced by forbidding gays to marry? Need I say more? But as if all that weren't illogical enough, they wrap it all up in a big bow with the idea that even if you are African American and you tomcat around and get one of your "hos" pregnant, you don't want her to be able to just run off and get an abortion, do you? You don't want her to "snuff your own seed," do you? Well then, you better vote Republican and make sure it'll be illegal for her to do that..."BRO"!!!!!

Has to be the most inept radio ad ever made. And now, it's fun to look back at it and laugh and say "If this was the best they could do, no wonder they lost!"

5. The "I don't snuff my own seed" guy sounds about as black as Pat Boone!
...Actually, Pat's an Original Gangsta compared to that guy.

If the seed snuffer was a rapper, he'd be Ol' Gated Community Bastard.

7. I wouldn't be surprised if having a "white" voice for the "evil"
African American was intentional, for a bunch of stupid reasons. Either way, the ad is clear evidence that the repukes believe americans are naive idiots, and until recently you couldn't blame them for making the assumption.
