Some of the Ingredients Used To Make a Vaccine:

Ethylene glycol (antifreeze)

Phenol also known as carbolic acid (this is used as a disinfectant & dye)

Formaldehyde a known cancer causing agent

Aluminum which is associated with Alzheimer's disease and seizures also cancer producing in laboratory mice (it is used as an additive to promote antibody response)

Thimerosal (used as a mercury disinfectant/ preservative) can result in brain injury and autoimmune disease.

Neomycin, Streptomycin (used as antibiotic) have caused allergic reaction in some people

These vaccines are also grown and strained thru animal or human tissue like monkey kidney tissue, chicken embryo, embryonic guinea pig cells, calf serum, human diploid cells (the dissected organs of aborted human fetuses as in the case of rubella, hepatitis A, and chickenpox vaccines)

2. I had the flu from hell about 8 years ago....

I was sick for a full two weeks, as was my entire family, we all got it during a family reunion. My Mom and Dad ended up with bronchitis, and sister and niece ended up with throat and ear infections. I vowed I would get the shot every year after that. Our whole family gets it. I've gotten sick a couple of times, but not nearly as bad. Maybe it's coincidence, maybe not. It's one of those damned if you do damned if you don't things.

4. I've had one for the last two years

and didn't get sick from the shot at all. So far so good this year with the flu, but last year I got it, but not as bad as years past. At my company we get them for free, so it's hard to turn it down.

5. The point is

to make safe vaccines and for that we need to have a chemist or drug expert to REALLY parse this issue. You can highlight the horrors of any chemical cocktail but the comment seems to say we are getting globs of anti-freeze IN the injection. Mercury was(is?) a problem and under Bush God knows what protections we have, but it is a physical issue with concrete answers and solutions, none of which are as easy as saying we will suffer the flu or risk the vaccine unknown for whatever reason. Flu shots have had immense health benefits for my family. If the risk, always present, can be reduced or eliminated that is a great issue.

And yup, I had a flu shot and a pneumonia booster just last week. I'll post back if I start showing signs of Alzheimer's dementia, provided I remember. Or, if I don't post again, just assume that flu from the shot killed me.

Like my fundy uncle told me when my father was dying, a tornado picked up a baby in Florida and put it down in a tree on a mattress, so that proves God can cure your Dad if you pray hard enough. I guess I didn't do it right as Dad died two hours later. So if I don't get flu on a mattress in a tree, I'll let you know that the shot is proven safe.

Somewhere in all this I was trying to suggest something about anecdotal as opposed to scientific evidence, but didn't quite nail it.

7. The flu shot is crap and the Polio vaccine is highly over rated.

Most vaccines don't work? I must have missed all of the people suffering from smallpox and polio, and pertussis, and rubella, and etc.

While there are many ingredients in most of what we take in our bodies that are potentially harmful in large doses, the issues are how much, and what are the potential benefits.

Honestly.

Please, everyone, have your children vaccinated. I know it may not seem necessary, but just a few years ago there was a measles outbreak among college aged kids, because there parents hadn't gotten them vaccinated.

Western medicine is not perfect, but we've come so far towards better public health, that it would be a shame (to say the least) to throw it away based on ignorant fear mongering like this twit above.
