MSNBC The Ed Show w/ ED SCHULZ - January 5, 2010:

KUCINICH: "If Congress intervenes and takes away all of those imposed mandates on insurance companies, we've just given the insurance companies the equivalent of hundreds of billions of dollars over a period of ten years. And I tell you that we really are back at the same debate: Who's running this government? Is it the insurance companies or is the United States Congress, or is it the insurance companies through the United States Congress?"

1. Dennis, no it won't.
Washington will only say two words to those who are sick and cannot afford to go see a doctor and those two words are, "FUCK YOU".

Single Payer will come the same way it did in Canada when a state implements it. Which is why I'm working with California One Care to pass Single Payer in California. We've passed it twice only to have Arnold veto it. Arnold is gone. We need millions of Americans to put the pressure on Jerry Brown to sign a Single Payer Bill!

We need your help at http://www.californiaonecare.org

Washington will never help us. We have to work at the state level to make Single Payer a reality!

2. Not with Republicans controling Congress.
Kucinich may have lost his grip on reality.

3. Any member of Congress who is willing to say Medicare for All is OK in my book.

Although I do think that Medicare Eligibility For All gets you less kneejerk.

4. He's got a point there actually... hmmm. Because something would have to be done...

Win, win either way if DK drums this home the health insurance industry will come out in force for it. We shouldn't raise our hopes but Cali truly holds the answer we need to back Jerry all the way.
