1. That was a good interview.
Karen Finney is still often a spokesperson for Dean. I think that caught him off guard.

Thanks for posting.

7. Fire all the Clinton retreads. Don't hire new ones to take their places.
WE did not vote for hillary clinton to be president. I am glad the WH now thinks it is ok to speak to Howard Dean and for him to be a spokesperson. But it is too little too late. I'll believe in change we can believe in when Howard Dean is chief of staff.

2. Daly as Chief of Staff
Bad idea - Elizabeth Warren would be the best, given the
financial meltdown was caused in part by JP Morgan, Daly's
"sponsor." We still need to fix too big to fail and
establish regulations on the Wall Street Casino.

3. Love Dean but he can be way off at times.Under 35 voted for partisanship, It didn't include repub
ideology which we all wanted change from and which we are mostly disappointed with Obama for catering too much to repub dictates. Obama may say "...if I said the sky was blue...republicans would say No...it's not..." but he doesn't act that way. He acts like, "Well then, what color would you like me to say it is". Remember Dean said No to impeachment of Bush/Cheney and that al qaeda would take over Iraq if we pulled out...all 80 of them. Take him with a grain of salt cause most of what he says is pretty good.

5. Try to give some details of the video -- not everyone has time for it ...
nor is it always convenient to watch it --

:)

6. stopped listening after the first three minutes. dean is wrong.
1) the attempt to take blame away from obama and place it on "his people" is morally and politically wrong. obama is responsible, period.
2) daly cannot be "concerned about the facts" and "respectful of everyone" and then, as dean predicts, go ahead and "be conservative". that's just plain illogical, and is excuse making in advance, par excellence.
3) the idea that just because daly is from outside of washington that he will be an improvement is ludicrous.

dean is providing cover for the abject failure of the democratic party and olbermann is enabling it.

8. Sure he is wrong. Obama has acted like he had no choice
and now Howard Dean. Is this compromise..just because the guy doesn't live in DC? That is insulting to progressives.

9. Dean is a loyal Dem, not an objective speaker.

10. I hope Dean is right about Daley's character, but was Daley specifically against a public option?
Edited on Thu Jan-06-11 07:23 PM by anAustralianobserver
I think it's fair to say a health system with Medicare/aid only available to seniors and poor people, with a buy-in public option only available to 3% of the public - could be classified as centre-right in the rest of the world (not centre-left and def not 'left').

(Even right-leaning parties around the world recognise that government does some things much more efficiently and responsibly than for-profit businesses...

The US blind-spot on this (not DU of course) is sad and pretty obvious to people who live in countries with a predominantly public health insurance system. I'm 39 and haven't had any major health issues but would beg the government to tax me 8% rather than let a predominantly private health insurance system extort 16% out of me for less secure services involving more time and paperwork!)
