with the founding principles of the country's framework so that they can appear to be more legitimate? Of course, their "base", (do they really need one anymore) will applaud them and conflate the reading with the principles. They can also imply that the "other party", (who did not come-up with this PR stunt) is quite the contrary to Constitutional representation and constrictions.
That's the green-light and justification for them to run amok and trash whatever they can in service of corporate, plutocratic rule.
This is rather pivotal and maybe we can work to utilize it as the soft Fascism pros play in their sandbox of special interests?
Waves? Eight years of smash, grab, plunder, screw. Two years of well, kinda, maybe, almost, somewhat. Now a wave of deadbeat rich all-out decimation that will only serve to confuse, (but not enlighten) whomever voted these barbaric well-compensated servants of wealth in.
I wonder when they are going to try to start reading the Bible in the House? ;) Just kiddin' folks.
It's a slap your forehead day, even if you were expecting all this ... one likes to be wrong on certain things.

They are saying "we're true Americans and those other guys aren't".
It's for the same reason that Poppy Bush visited a flag factory when he campaigned for the presidency.

10. Their supporters see themselves as being in an ongoing melodrama |
|
After 2008, the GOP and their financiers crafted a narrative about how the forces of darkness (racist pun intended) were closing in around them.
Now this is the stirring, triumphant scene in their mental movie where the forces for good stand tall and speak the TRUTH blah blah blah.
