Last minute edit to date this. This was in February 2010. I thought this particular video was more recent and went with the new reports but the video itself is a older.

...

After reports over the weekend of thousands of dead birds falling from the sky in Arkansas and around 100,000 dead fish washing up on the shores of the Arkansas River, more mysteries abound with hundreds of birds dying in Louisiana, dead fish in Maryland, dead sardines on Brazil’s beaches, and hundreds of snapper floating in New Zealand waters.

The Advocate in Baton Rouge reports that around 500 small birds, some of them starlings, have fallen out of the sky on Louisiana Highway 1 near Pointe Coupee Parish.

Spokesperson for the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries, Bo Boehringer, told the New York Daily News “We have sent bird carcasses to two individual labs to obtain toxicology reports.”

He said it was too early to connect the Arkansas bird deaths to those in Louisiana, noting testing is being done and “…it could be a week or more before the results come back.”

The Daily News reports that Maryland is now looking into massive fish deaths in Chesapeake Bay.

Dawn Stoltzfus, director of communications with Maryland’s Department of the Environment, said “We are seeing small/juvenile menhaden, croaker, spot fish dead, in very large fish kills… The numbers are estimated in the hundreds of the thousands at this point.”

Additionally, the Parana Online reports that 100 tons of dead fish, mainly sardines, were found on the beaches of Paranagua, Brazil Sunday. They have also begun to appear on the coasts of Pontal do Pontal do Parana, Guaraquecaba, and Antonina.

2. That was one of my first thoughts too but then
I saw that this video predated the BP catastrophe. Of course, Deepwater Horizon wasn't the first, or even their first, catastrophe by a long shot. Nor was it the first time Corexit was dumped into the waters.

This is all so very sad.

3. Thanks for posting this. I hope this thread is spared idiotic remarks
being levelled at those who of us who are concerned. Perhaps I'm just stressed out as I have zero patience with those shrugging these events off especially after the oil spill and subsequent chemical dumping in the Gulf.
