1. Mike Huckabee's Bad Week |

A look back at Fox News' Mike Huckabee's terrible week, from his statements on Steve Malzberg's show that seemed to flirt with birtherism to his condemnation of Natalie Portman. http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=385x560450

4. Palin in the one the beat. Here's why... |
|
The GOP is divided into three main demographic groups: Neoconservatives, Paleo-conservatives, and Social Conservatives. The two largest, and the traditional allies, are the neocons and social cons. In order to win the nomination, a candidate must win the support of, or at least be acceptable to two of the three.
Palin is primarily supported by the Social Conservative wing of the party, and she has made all the right noises towards the neocons that they don't despise her. I predict that she will hit the ground running hard, and her supporters -- who see her as jesus's chosen to lead us into armageddon (or whatever the fuck they believe) are going to be chasing votes like a catholic priest chases alter boys. And, as is the case with both parties, winning early matters a lot.
Which is, in my opinion, the reason the GOP is so terrified about her. Do not make the mistake of assuming that she is just another politician. She is not. She is a very dangerous woman, and no one should want her anywhere near any position of power. To be clear, Palin actually believes that she is God's chosen -- it's not just lip service with her. She doesn't need to know what to do because god will tell her, she doesn't need to know what to say because god will put the right words into her mouth. She has is an entitled barbie-girl with a messiah complex. I mean, how monsterous does your ego have to be for you to actually believe that god has chosen YOU to be his instrament? Correction... how crazy.
And the GOP knows it. She is a bomb that they are trying to defuse.

thei female voters bigtime, and what happened in Delaware could easily happen with her nationally. This is the party of the Witch Lady and that idiot whacko Sharon Angle out west. These whackos will vote and work like hell for those they believe are their Messiahs. The GOP establishment is crapping their pants over a Palin candidacy because they know she stands a very strong chance of winning that primary.
