I think she was going to secretly have the baby and get someone else to take it. She wasn't interested in dealing with a downs syndrome child, and was hoping to pull that off without anyone finding out.
Otherwise, you'd think she would have played it just the opposite. Pretending to be a conservative woman, thrilled to be pregnant again, and how wonderful she was to feel like another child was a blessing, downs syndrome or not.
