13. Despite what Scheuer's said in the past, this probably isn't inaccurate

I mean, say what you will about him, but if anyone should know about al-Qaeda, it would be the bin Laden section chief. Islamic extremists probably don't make up much of the rebellion, but undoubtedly there's some in there. If we arm the rebels, we'll probably be arming the extremists as well.

This is turning into 80s Afghanistan all over again...

It also looked like the white house pays them to sell a rosy picture. Sadly, we are almost bankrupt.

Just a reminder, the very people we funded and armed in the Afghan /Russian war ended up on the top our hit lists when we responded to the 911 attacks.
