3. Thank you for taking the time to listen!
We like his latest on TruthDig.Com The Collapse of Globalization-

http://www.truthdig.com/report/item/the_collapse_of_globalization_20110328/

"We must view the corporate capitalists who have seized control of our money, our food, our energy, our education, our press, our health care system and our governance as mortal enemies to be vanquished."

-Chris Hedges.

I question all my former liberal and alternative sources more than I once did. I just finished also listening to the Chris Hedges discussion:

Chris Hedges "Death of the Liberal Class" at The Sanctuary for Independent Media 10-17-10

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bYCvSntOI5s

In that one he goes a bit longer and goes into his investigation of the power of the christian calvinists, or so I'd call them, and how impossible it is to get past their rage.

He comes to the same conclsion that I do:

Rage is Fear and the fear is not surviving.

So live in an pre-packaged, glamorized illusion and you'll make it. If anyone tries to take that from you, kill them.

Regarding survival, I think these and the thoughts of David Korten, who really has done an excellent job in defining what corporations have done to destroy the philosophical underpinnings of what we most loved about the ideal that America represents as stated by MLK of equality.

Equality, connectedness and other such concepts are the key to getting close to the nature of reality and life itself. That is what is being kept from us.

By creating a different social model and living it now, while it is still possible to do so, we will survive in a better way than those who are holding onto a commericalized, brand name view of reality and all that allows them to do.

This presents them what Hedges describes in that longer version about the people who sat at the lunch counter: I'll only move if you arrest me, and you'll have to carry me.

Or in my words: Confront that I am a human being and I am here and I'm not in your game, but I'm not going away.

None of this will be covered by the media. In that longer version, Hedges also says not to count too heavily on the internet. Direct actions of different kinds. It really is a war on consciousness and the ecology of the planet Earth.

Nice discussions this morning. Have a good one.

9. You're very welcome. You're one of my fave posters here...
Check the sidebar at youtube for more, I'm downloading my fourth video with him.

If you have the time, check out YES magazine and go to youtube and put David Korten in the search bar. He's got ideas to implement for green, egalitarian living.

Like Hedges, Korten has been speaking out about how the corporate mindset has corrupted government and destroyed lives and the environment. His solutions are not about running away, but having a way to recharge ourselves in the battles ahead without the guntoting survivalist mentality.

We have to be more dependent upon each other and less dependent on anything that corporations are trying to get us to buy, be it their view and brands of political and religious ideas, wars, low wages, environmental destruction, anything.

Now I have to find who is this Van Jones person that is being referred to in some post here on DU. Never heard of him.

2. I appreciate the comment by Klugman about not knowing were to focus..
Corporate war on the working class has been much about creating crisis and then sweeping in as if to "HELP" However..... the help working people need are jobs, education, homes, health care... All of these needs are being blocked and described as too crushing to the deficit.... Everything has to be privatized now... It's an emergency... Even the law is in the way.... Must overstep the law to make sure everything is privately owned and run....

4. Hedges' analysis is nothing short of brilliant. In particular his assessment of the democratic
party. Hedges notes that the democratic party is where social movements and organizations go to be co-opted. Three of those movements immediately come to mind: Labor, civil rights and the women's movements.

Take the time and money to read Death of the Liberal Class. You won't be disappointed but you may be angry enough to move toward direct action.

I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. I'll try to do it the hard way go through the podcast section of their store.

I'd rather pick them up on youtube, so I'll bookmark that channel, since they're not live.

Thanks and keep on informing people.
