7. We NEED him to be more front and center...
The thugs march out the crazies and the bloodless zealots in front of the cameras and on the airwaves every day to move the conversation and the talking points to the extreme right. We need more Weiners out there pulling it back - and Grayson should be the damn chairman of the DNC....compromise to a true middle is not all that we want, but is a far better alternative to giving up 75% to meet a "not-as-bad-as-it-could-have-been" compromise....

21. What he has is a mind that's sharp as a tack,
and you don't catch that - you are born with it. However, the other thing he's got is a spine - and that's something that the Dem leadership CAN grow, with a little focused effort!

30. He's right, Republicans whine and make noise
especially considering their obsession with BS (not jobs!) at this moment. I mean, I didn't know that defunding Planned Parenthood and NPR and Medicare will rescue jobs and re-stimulate the economy, right? :sarcasm: And I wonder what'd happen if Weiner tried primarying Obama next year?

37. I totally love this guy. He doesn't mince words or hold
back. He's incredibly quick on his feet, extremely articulate, and has a great sense of humor. The Republicans are such cry babies. They demand to be treated w/kid gloves, yet go brutally go on the offense over every little perceived slight whether real or imaginary.

42. I find it interesting that you put it that way, I've been thinking about that lately...
Edited on Sat Apr-16-11 07:52 AM by Volaris
that Politics in America isn't a game for kids or those with thin skins....
you have to be 18 (a legal adult) to even buy a ticket to the game, let alone think that you have the skills to actually get on the field and play. Why are politicians (esp. the GOP) such prissy little girls when it comes to stuff like this, and why aren't we calling them on it on a daily basis?

I heard an old WWII Navy vet talking once on television about the benefits and drawbacks of the USA relying mainly on aircraft carriers after the bombing of Pearl Harbor...he said the following...(and I think the same applies to the modern GOP...)

"An aircraft carrier is like a heavyweight boxer with a glass jaw. It will beat the hell out of you if it can get a hold of you, but IF you hit it, you can hurt it.... BAD."

The idea that the GOP can be pulled into a rope-a-dope seems like a good strategy...just keep falling back, and back, and back, and then, when the "opportune moment" presents itself, let loose with guys like Anthony, who KNOW how to put em' down on the mat.
