As the U.S. President officially kicks off his re-election campaign, Sarah Palin's question "How is that hopey, changey stuff working out?" takes on a new level of cruelty. RT's Anastasia Churkina takes a look at the promises made and not kept, and the effect this has had on millions of Americans that used to believe in change, but now don't.

1. The premise of this post is a pile of stinking horse manure.

14. Obama's most significant acheivement as a president so far
Edited on Sat Apr-16-11 01:56 AM by szatmar666
was to demobilize the left that got him elected by constantly kicking them in the teeth with consistently asinine right wing policy proposals what were portrayed in the media as "centrist" while economically viable real life solutions such as "medicare for all" were "taken off the table": ie. he REFUSED to even invite to the table reasonable economists and policy experts who could have fixed the system.

divided is a better word.

4. nothing wrong with discussing
Obama's broken promises. He said that he needs our input during his term to achieve the goals we all wanted. So this is part of it, so now its time to hold him accountable for the uncompleted or abandoned promises and ensure that he recommits on hsi campaign promises. Skip the accountability step and he would ignore all of us

6. you must
have a pretty low opinion of Democracy, then.
Isn't freedom of speech about everyone having a right to a voice, whether or not we agree or disagree?

18. nah, he pegged you good
"free speech zone"--exactly. Is it really coming to the point where people who criticize the president or disagree with policy should have posts deleted, as you imply?

We are democrats. I don't know what you are.

19. Here is a classic Obama cognitive dissonance captured in wikipedia
"As director of the NEC. Sperling was a principal negotiator with then-Treasury Secretary Lawrence Summers of the Financial Modernization Act of 1999, also known as the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act. Gramm-Leach-Bliley repealed large portions of the depression-era Glass-Stegall Act allowing banks, securities firms and insurance companies to merge.<3> President Barack Obama believes that the repeal of Glass–Steagall helped cause the 2007 subprime mortgage financial crisis.<4>"

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gene_Sperling

If the president really believes that why is he listening to these people?!

22. i dont give a shit
about sarah palin

Do you really have nothing better to offer than challenging my party affiliation? There is an argument to be made from your side, evidently you arent capable of making it coherently.

Goddamn you people are so fucking sad. Promoting censorship of differing opinion and you call yourself a democrat? Seems to me your attitude is much more like our republican "friends."

Until his diatribe against Ryan's budget proposal the other day Obama was turning into a complete dud.

Many of us no longer believe at all. We were filled with zeal when he was elected. He had a huge mandate. There was a bad wrong turn in there someplace.

If you want Obama to be successful you had better recognize this fact, and quickly.

25. would you like to bet on 2012?!
Nothing personal, it's all about the unemployment rate. If you have an idea how unemployment will go under 6% let's hear it! What policies does the president have in place after 2 years to assure that we'll have a decent economy in 2012?! Or this is just more substance you can handle?!

Edited on Fri Apr-15-11 09:38 PM by Youth Uprising
Couldn't they have interviewed someone more articulate to explain why they're disappointed with Obama? And the guy with the hammer and sickle t-shirt is going to be fodder for the right-wing trolls.

24. Obama is all words no action, sorry that's the truth
no matter how many times it's deleted!

When Clinton came to office in 1993 he changed the republican fiscal policy with 50 votes in the Senate and Al Gore's tie breaking vote. He also changed monetary policy by pressuring Greenspan to raise interest rates to 5-6% because wage earners and small business can't compete against near 0% interest rates. Since 2001 we have a giant incentive to move money from Main Street to Wall Street in the form of super low near 0% interest rates and very low nominal and 0 effective tax rates on speculators. When Obama came in he promised he'll change the economic direction of this country. He did not deliver. He's all words, no action. There is no pres in my lifetime from Jimmy Carter to W who didn't change at least fiscal policy, since that's the low hanging fruit: you can change taxes through the budget reconciliation process and you don't need a super majority.

This is just 1 argument I have to show how Obama is blowing smoke to blind his supporters while he's dong WS's business. I haven't even touched industrial policy, trade policy and labor policy, not to mention foreign policy! Wake up sheeple!
