2. Steele is an arrogant tool
and I was elated to see Ed representing us so passionately well. Good on Maher for matching them on last night's show.

4. i disagree with your statement that Ed represented us well
At he beginning of the segment Ed completely missed the crap about social security being an entitlement that is adding to our deficit. It is no small point to put out there that the money was there, but has been looted/stolen from us. There is nothing about social security that is adding to our debt other than the fact that it has been stolen and for them to pay us back will require other funds. Why won't anyone in the media state this?

22. I disagree with you, Ed argued as well as could be expected
with that loudmouth tool Steele shrieking over him whenever he tried to speak. I doubt anyone could have held his own better.

27. +1. SS is not an entitlement! SS is not an entitlement! SS is not an entitlement!
Why do most Democrats not get this. That is the most powerful argument SS has to save it from the chopping block. If we let them get away with saying this over and over and over we have lost. It is a lie to destroy SS!!!!!

I was surprised nobody challenged this, especially Ed.

Ed you know better. The Twit Amy whatever, from ABC got this propaganda lie out to a large audience and nobody challenged that vicious lie....again; and everybody including Ed treated it as an entitlement.

Amy twit is just another propaganda tool of the right.

But why is Amy Walter (at about 9:10) talking about what happened on "2/11"
Not an easy one to screw up

18. do you really think *any* of these msm newsreaders *misspeak* when using this talking point?
Seriously -- do you really believe that?

They push the propaganda just as much as Fox does. We're just not supposed to know that.

30. My point
My point was more along the lines that she couldn't even get the date of the twin towers' attack correct.
It speaks volumes that a news director is misdirected.

21. my understanding is she is one of the bosses...
News director I think Bill said. Which just goes to show you that the truth is a long way away from
getting on the TV on her station. Ed did great...he didn't catch everything....but they would still be
talking if Ed tried to correct them on all their lies and bullhockey.

:yourock: Go big Ed!!:headbang:

12. Ed killed.
He was very prepared to give his side of the story. Steele's only points seemed to be that Obama was more Conservative than his base so people should be disappointed. They did call him out a little bit on the statement about lower taxes creating more revenue, but I wish they would have stuck with that and totally gotten him to admit that's a lie.

Schultz was especially good on this, he is becoming more and more relevant and has the ability to make good and succinct points that get to the core of complex issues. He's great to have on our side.

14. I really like Ed but...
He was a bit much last night. I am all for the biased liberal making a case for our causes but he was just doing one political punch line after another. I love Obama too but I realize that he lacks a lot of the testicular fortitude I thought he had. Which makes me sad.

20. Be sure to watch the other segments. As time goes on, Michael Steele loses his cool
as the audience laughs at his ridiculous rhetoric & begins talking back to them!

25. He loses it whenever he appears on Real Time
Steele snapped and sneered at the audience in 2008 when they howled at his assertion that McCain would be voted POTUS.
Good times.

24. Part 3 is a repeat of Part 2 -- disappointing, because the best moment ofvthe show would have
been at the beginning of the third part. I wrote about it in another thread:

Michael Steele got unnerved last night on "Real Time" when he got laughed at by the audience when he defended the $16,000 voucher proposed by Paul Ryan. Bill & Ed Schultz kept asking him what will seniors do for medical expenses when that money runs out for the year, but he continued to dodge the question by talking over them. Finally he gave his answer: "We don't know yet." The audience roared with laughter & Steele, clearly embarrassed, lost his composure & began jeering the audience! It was something to see.

34. Observations:

Why the fuck are we listening to any of the republicans? The republicans have no credibility on anything!! They have been consistently wrong!

Social Security is not an entitlement. We all paid into it!

Tax cuts do not generate revenue or create jobs! History proves that! It is the republicans cut taxes but did not reduce spending! But now they want to cut spending!

The Ryan budget plan does nothing to reduce deficits or the debt. All the cuts in his plan fund tax cuts!

Ending NAFTA and WTO and other disastrous free trade deals and policies and ending mergers and acquisitions and stopping monopolies will bring back jobs in this country. We need to make things again in this country! The return of good paying jobs will stimulate the economy since people will have money to spend which will increase demand. This will increase revenues which can be used to pay down the debt and eliminate deficits.
