Pakman: Obama making promises didn't work

During his first election campaign Barack Obama made lucrative promises, some never kept. How did that affect the American's credit of him and do they believe in changes anymore? As the polls approach, what will be the president's next promises? David Pakman, host of the David Pakman Show, shares his opinion with RT.

1. Campaign finance reform...

...is not necessarily going to solve your problems.

In the 2010 Maine legislative elections, which returned a Republican majority to both Houses for the first time in 30 years, 92% of Republican candidates, and 84% of Democratic candidates, availed themselves of the public financing under our Clean Elections act.

And of the 188 members, two (2) are from third parties, Greens or independents.

That's not a reason to not do it. It is, however, a reason not to expect it to change the world.

2. the answer is grassroots union organizing

no amount of voting can substitute for real political muscle.
