1. We have to be careful re. how the evildoers manipulate and exploit...

... symbolism.

That they wrap themselves in the flag ( or in this case the anthem) should be no surprise. We shouldn't be seen *appearing* to jeer the anthem ( we're actually jeering the *exploitation* of it by the doers of evil; but the distinction gets easily lost in the modern era marketplace of mini-ideas and fleeting digital images.).

Score one for the bad guys.

2. I can only imagine
the comments on the YouTube page.

I have not been terribly impressed with any of the footage I have viewed from this event.

3. Well, all I can say is,
I was singing, and virtually none of the teabaggers around me were. I agree that we all need to be sensitive to this, because this is exactly what gets played and replayed on Fox, et al.

My S.O., who was in a different part of the crowd, just said that he thinks that the National Anthem started quietly, so there was residual general booing until the amplification was increased to the point that people realized it was being sung (albeit poorly). That was my experience where I was standing, but I thought I probably just hadn't been paying attention.

12. Nope, Opportunity gained, but for the tea baggers
If everybody sang together, there would be no coverage about the warm and fuzzy moment. However, if the left boos the National Anthem, it feeds right into their narrative. If anything, a coordinated cheer about how people who hate America should not be allowed to sing the national anthem would serve better.

7. We need to sing the Star Spangled Banner
much louder and clearer than the baggers at these rallies and other events. The baggers need to be reminded it is the --union supporters-- that are defending America and her ideals.

9. I understand they booed because the right wraps
themselves in the flag. But you know how they'll spin in it. So next time please join in and sing our national anthem. Don't let them believe they own it. That's their goal....

10. Hypocrites
Reminds me of the people who pray LOUD in church . .

They think it makes them better Christians if they pray louder
than everyone else!

11. Silly
So who ever shows the most respect for a flag or a song loves their county better?
I have never understood that. It kind of reminds me of how people were called unpatriotic if they questioned the war(invasion)that Bush started.

Loving your country is not expressed by standing with you hand over your heart, with maybe tears streaming down you face, as you sing along to a song.

Loving your county is shown by not poisoning it as you go after more money. Show your love of county by not letting your fellow Americans suffer without food, homes or medical treatment.

If you love your country show it by looking after the people who live in it and help protect your country from permanent damage.

Don't invade countries and kill thousands of people just because you lack the intellectual curiosity to do some simple research into the real situation.

Don't go ignorantly go along with evil acts because you don't want to risk being accused of being unpatriotic.

Teabaggers are the ones who are unpatriotic. People who love their country are the ones trying to make America a better place to live. It's not about who waves the flag more often and who sings the loudest.
