1. This is the state where the Republican gubernatorial candidates all decry Union. . .
and publicly agitate for secession.

Now they want my money to keep their miserable hides from what some would call a just toasting in a hell of their own device.

Okay. I see no problem helping them with what they need in their hour of necessity. That's what the Union is all about. But they should either give promissory notes to repay it or all take a pledge to stfu.

You hit the nail on the head of mr. goodhair. Why Texans voted for this guy is beyond me, i voted for Bill White. People around the United States sees us as morons and idiots because of this guy. I wish we could recall this SOAB.

6. I say we should get the money, with one condition.
A prime-time press conference should be broadcast on all three of the major networks in which Rick Perry publicly admits that his so-called dream of secession was a politically motivated LIE. He should be made to use the words "taxpayer funded handout". But before he's allowed to get his hands on the 3' X 8' cardboard replica of the check (the amount with all its zeros clearly on display), he should be given the choice of going down on his knees and using the phrase "pretty please" or walking away from the check with his head held high like the proud, independent Texan he claims to be.

Now THAT would be reality TV worth watching.

7. We sometimes wish that some US states would resign from
this 'perfect union'.
