Tax day was only a week ago, which means that the Republicans are out doing their yearly push for a flat tax, or national sales tax. While touting the benefits and ignoring the burden it puts on the middle class, Republicans swear that this is the only system that could work in America. Mike Papantonio disagrees, and he takes on the stooges at Fox over their lies and omissions.

3. Even if the millionaire is buying a Rolls Royce and the working-class person buys a used Ford,

the millionaire is still paying a smaller percentage of his income in that purchase. As recent history has shown with the likes of the Koch brothers and the Waltons, this frees up more money for them to essentially buy their governments, create policy for their benefit and the detriment of others, and engage in speculative investments that jeopardize the entire nation's economy.

These arguments from the right about tax fairness are disingenuous at best and a Trojan horse for economic disaster at worst.

7. They use the courts 100Xs as much as well as police, fire, energy&water

The "over $20million" wasn't just to study the issue but to push it as well and to get the results they were looking for, because they do not mention the use of the commons or the court systems or the costs of pollution which far exceed individual use. They drive up the energy costs by using so much of the product that demand far exceeds supply without increasing costs. They drive up medical cost due to poisoning the environment with cancer causing agents and the air with toxins which individuals end up paying for.

The whole issue is strongly supported by the wealthy and the corporations because they know they would save billions they should be paying in taxes.
The condescending attitude of these FOX personalities is so irritating, especially when it's two against one. Love ya Pap. Thanks for making a stand for us.
