The video isn't great to start with, but the picture comes in eventually.

The disconnect is that politicians think the American public is so gullible that they'll eat anything put in front of them. This may be true with some but not the over 50 crowd. They do pay attention. When they said they wanted accountability with the spending they didn't mean their/our safety nets. They meant with the banksters. They meant with Wall Street. They meant with fraud in the private sector with Medicare/Medicaid. They're really ticked about the ridiculous tax cuts for the elite when so many pay less taxes than the average working person. And I am glad to see it. This is where the country can come together as a positive force against the corporate hierarchy. But this isn't the time for democrats to get cocky. Keep putting out the truth diligently..it's paying off. Apparently not all voters are listening to Fraud News anymore.

9. I agree except necessity has forced the over 50 crowd to become informed now.
Watch the videos of the pre-election over 50 crowd of tea partiers and especially those showing up during the McCain/Palin run who were just angry but completely misinformed. Now they have a personal vested interest as their livelihood is being destroyed by the very people who had duped them into supporting them. Millionaires and billionaires are unaffected by economic collapse of the middle class poor and they are the biggest supporters of union busting and privatization of our social safety net.

Now the over 50 crowd is waking up because these plans affect them personally so they are becoming more informed and aware of being duped. Look at how puny the tea party gatherings have been this year. Average is down from 4 or 5,000 to about 350 at each major event to about 12 people at smaller gatherings. The financially manipulating Palin got the big bucks but not the big crowd. The key here is "EXPOSURE"... Republicans are being exposed for what they really are and how much they lie and deceive just to gain power.

Our 2 party system is really just one party divided into 2 factions...1) the progressive dems and 2) the conservadems. Republicans have gone over the crazy cliff of incompetence with their Bush/Cheney integrity.

12. Wow, generalize much?
You make it sound like any one who's over 50 is a tea partier.

and trying to hide behind their corporate masters, having their town halls populated with bussed-in, doughy-bodied, hover-round jockeys who are fed at the local buffet-"all you can eat" in compensation for their time and silliness.

They are grown enough to vote to eliminate Medicare, but they aren't grown enough to stand in their truth and take their heat.

Cowards.

7. K/R
Now I think I see what the Democrats' strategy in 2010 was: lose the election and let the Republicans look like idiots (or as idiot, as the case may be).

Unfortunately for all, we cannot afford the time wasted on discussing Mr. Ryan's budget and we can't afford to do nothing. That means that maybe the Mayans were right about 2012.

8. One of the many things I love about Rachel, she can make fun of
herself and her loosely worded statements that need re-examination.

A great sport!

11. I agree totally - bring this Ryan bill to the Senate
Make every GOP Senator who votes for it a social pariah and make it an election issue in 2012.

If Harry Reid waffles this time, he should be thrown out as totally ineffectual.
